My first attempt with textures. One of the things I really want to try in Photography/Photoshop. Thank you Ninianlif for the texture.
Pls Visit Ninianlif's flickr site for some beautiful textures: www.flickr.com/photos/beapierce/
Saturday we went up to a lavender farm and checked out the lavender festival. More pics to follow (I hope)... Flickr keeps reminding me that my "pro" account ends today...
Anywho, the festival was tons o' fun. I bought dried lavender so I will be able to have some fun with still life images... I just couldn't resist. I also tried lavender lemonade. I must say it was wonderfully refreshing! I didn't know what to expect, but glad I took the "risk!"
PP: This was processed with Kim Klassen's Luminous on soft light.

During my career at NASA I often had to travel to Kennedy Space Center and when I did I stayed in Cocoa Beach. Late in my career a friend told me I should shoot the sunrise at the Cocoa Beach Pier. I wish I had known about that place years earlier. There is always an interesting group of people there, including a few photographers. The few times I got to visit the sunrise was spectacular. On this occasion as the sun was coming over the horizon a shrimp boat was moving across the horizon with its nets down and a large following of seagulls. Processing was done in Photoshop and texturing was done with a blend ot two French Kiss textures that I devised.
This little fellow was tiny, and this was the best I could do with an extension tube, but it shows how narrow the focus is. Macro lens on my wish list from the Easter Bunny! :-)
