Part of the Charles Kuralt Trail. Pocosin Lakes NWR is one of 11 national wildlife refuges and a national fish hatchery (Edenton, NC) that are working to conserve fish, wildlife, plants along with their native habitats. The Charles Kuralt Trail has been established to help people enjoy all these wonders and to recognize the broadcast journalist who shared these delightful out-of-the-way places.

Monument outside the Museum of London. John Wesley is regarded as the founder of Methodism, a Protestant denomination of Christianity. The wording is from his diary and describes the moment when, attending a prayer meeting in the vicinity, he felt his heart "strangely warm'd", which was a sign to him that he was on the right path.
John Wesley's core belief, and the belief of Methodists today, is that love of God should be at the heart of everything one says and does and should inform all of one's actions.
"Wednesday May 24. 1738.
"What occurred on Wedn. 24, I think best to relate at large, after premising what may make it the better understood. Let him that cannot receive it, ask of the Father of Lights, that he would give more Light both to him and to me.
"I think it was about five this Morning, that I opened my Testament on those Words. [Greek text] There are given unto us exceeding great and precious Promises, even that ye should be Partakers of the divine Nature. 2 Pet. i. 4. Just as I went out, I open’d it again on those Words, Thou art not far from the Kingdom of GOD. In the afternoon I was asked to go to St Paul’s. The Anthem was, Out of the Deep have I call’d unto thee, O Lord: Lord, hear my Voice. O let thine Ears consider well the Voice of my Complaint. If thou, Lord, will be extreme to mark what is done amiss, O Lord, who may abide it? But there is Mercy with thee; therefore thou shalt be feared. O Israel, trust in the Lord: For with the Lord there is Mercy, and with him is plenteous Redemption. And he shall redeem Israel from all his Sins.

Alexander Pope (21 May 1688 – 30 May 1744) was an eighteenth-century English poet, best known for his satirical verse and for his translation of Homer. He is the third most frequently quoted writer in The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, after Shakespeare and Tennyson. Pope is famous for his use of the heroic couplet (a traditional form for English poetry, commonly used for epic and narrative poetry).

Despite the place not being used for spinning for what seemed like quite a while there were quite a few hints to its original use kicking about..
