Having been released from Brush the day before after 13 years in store, GB Railfreight's Class 92, 92 006 didn't hang around stretching its legs on the mainline.
92006 ran initially to Stafford from Crewe, then on to Preston to collect sister locomotive 92033. The immaculate 006 is seen leading the pair as they fly south through Acton Bridge back to Crewe on 0Z92.
Running as well as she looks, the performance of 006 straight out of the "box" is a marked contrast to the other 92 reinstated after a long time in store - 020 - which took several weeks of additional work before it was ready for the mainline.
Of note, the Caledonian Sleeper "stag" symbol on 006 is smaller than on 033 (and the other six "Sleeper" 92s).

It is believed that this set will end up in InterCity livery in the fullness of time (and be a bit longer too!).

The Dyson - reinstated in July 2019 after 13 years in store - undertook two successful return runs from Crewe to Preston and back, this being the first of the return legs, 0Z93 11:07 Preston to Crewe (VSTP).
Hopefully this latest stint at Crewe ETD will pave the way for a better run of health for the engine formerly named "Louis Armand".
In the midst of a creative meltdown, I have created this strange peice of work.
Very strange, is'nt it?
I am feeling quite skittish as I stumble through this mind haze - withdrawl symptoms are wreaking havoc on my body and mind. When I'm sleeping, I'm plagued by lucid dreams where airplanes fall from the sky and sidewalks turn into water. My waking moments are spent deep breathing my way through panic attacks and double vision.
I'm aching to create again, but my drive has become clotted by stagnation and exhaustion.
I needed to be surreal, to be the "happy/unhappy houswife" and get lost, if only for a little while...
Arrived today, yay! ^w^
The color is a bit off from what I imagined but that's my fault so I'm not too fuzzy about it. This was more like a testrun anyway so I'll know for the next time :P

After a very long testing period, the first Siemens Avenio of the HTM (the public transport company of The Hague) was put into service in November 2. Initially there was just one Avenio in service on tram line 2 but this number was increased in the following weeks. At the end of this year all the RegioCitadis tram on line 2 will be replaced by the Avenio trams. The next tram line to get the new tram is tram line 11, which is now the domain of the GTL8-I and GTL8-II trams. At this moment 44 of the 60 Avenio’s are delivered already (5001-5042, 5047, 5048), and 20 of them are in regular passenger service (5003-5009, 5011-5013, 5015, 5016, 5018-5025).
Last week and yesterday I decided to go to The Hague to make a few rides with the Avenio and to take some shots. Even though it wasn’t my first experience with this new tram, I was again surprised by the sublime driving dynamics!
One of the newest Avenio’s, the 5038, delivered on October 9th, during a test/instruction run. The tram just left the tramtunnel, which connects the Central Station with the Brouwersgracht. There are two underground stations, Spui and Grote Markt, and the tunnel is in use for tram lines 2 and 6 and RandstadRail lines 3 and 4.

I was actually in a uni class at the time, but evidently the activity out the window was much more entertaining. It's somewhat surprising that they didn't complete all the site works prior to HM arriving to open this plaza.
With the DDA laws bringing to an end the use of their open top Bristol VRs which have for many years given fine service on their 100 service between Totnes-Paignton & Torquay a more modern low floor replacement had to be sought and they are in the form of a pair of former London General Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TLs, Y812TGH & Y827TGH. Over the Winter period the pair have been converted from dual-door closed tops to single front entrance open toppers. Y812TGH being the only one of the 4 President bodied B7TLs, Y808/12/16/27TGH, to not have enter service for RRL in closed top format.
Pictured whilst on a test run prior to hopefully entering service in very near future, Y812TGH heads past St Mary's Church at Dartington.

My personal "maiden ride" onboard of the new CAF Urbos 100 - GVB 15G tram during a test run with passengers. This tram was limited at Stadshart (terminus of line 5) due to some technical issues at Station Zuid. Normally it is very unlikely to turn left comming from Westwijk to Stadshart Amstelveen. But these trams 3006 and (behind) 3005 were forced to turn at Stadshart.
This tram had been delivered to the GVB one year plus one day ago!
This 15G tram 3006 built by CAF was delivered to the GVB on 09/12/2019.

On 20 August 1997, DeDietrich built mDDM power car 390 7701 of NS with DD-AR rake 7844 is returning from a test run and passes the level crossing near Rotterdam Kleiweg station. The train is on its way to Leidschendam depot, and therefore uses a part the 'Hofpleinlijn' local line between Rotterdam Hofplein and The Hague.
As the train used the single-track connection between the Gouda-Utrecht main line and the Hofplein line, the train is on the left-hand track and will switch to the right hand track after having passed Kleiweg station.
A lot has changed since than. The level crossing is still in use, but trains have been superseded by RET metros of line E. Once the first electrified railway in the Netherlands, the Hofplein line became part of the Rotterdam metro network, after an extensive modernisation and conversion including the construction of a tunnel between Kleiweg and Central station. Obviously, the connections to the main railway network were removed. There were two, so that trains coming from Rotterdam and from Utrecht could reach the Hofplein line. This was particularly useful for transferring trains to and from Leidschendam depot but also to divert trains when the main line Rotterdam - The Hague was blocked.
After 20 years of use in regional and local services, the mDDM/DD-AR trainsets were refurbished and rebuilt for intercity services. They now wear the yellow/blue intercity livery of NS.
