Metra MPI MP36PH-3S 402 was out and about on a joy ride shortly after delivery. It was passing the Stone Avenue stop on the BNSF Chicago Subdivision in 2003.
BNSF wasn't impressed with these things and Metra eventually reassigned them to other lines.

I like to travel light and my current (& significantly heavier) Canon ES 28-105 needs a Viltrox adapter to fit the M50 making it a tad cumbersome & front heavy.

A BNSF rack train runs north through the approach to the Eads bridge and up Terminal Railroad's high-line at an obvious location.
Sucky, washed out colors courtesy of about a million western wildfires that have made St. Louis and just about the entire continental US appear to have a permanent overcast. I'll have to try this again when blue skies are back, probably after the election.

I wasn't having luck with this lens through my window.... today since the temperature is almost 80 degrees.... I opened the window.... what a difference!!
Moral of my story.... I need to wash my windows!!!

March has been good for passenger train aficionados on Union Pacific's Moffat Tunnel Subdivision west of Denver, Colorado. In addition to the regular Amtrak CALIFORNIA ZEPHYRS, the Winter Park Express Ski train still has one more series of runs (March 27-31), and then this morning, the Rocky Mountaineer was making a test run to Salt Lake City. Regular RM service to Moab begins April 9.
The 8-car train is shown at Tolland, Colorado, about 47 rail miles west of Denver. March 26, 2025.

37116 leading with 37219 trailing are opened up as they get a run on the fast from Washwood Heath West Junction to Water Orton whilst working 1Z23 Bristol High Level Siding to Tyseley L.M.D.
In the late evening, loaded coal from Robinson Run grinds up Cranberry Grade near Graveyard Curve in a deafening sound comparable to any mountain grade in the US.

Rare test de photo de nuit en rentrant du travail. Sans trépied pas top mais j'ai trouvé l'ambiance pas mal quand même!
