Things have been so crazy busy at work the last few weeks its been hard to focus on my Legography, but I’ve finally gotten around to process and edit the sequel image to Test Flight Preparations (flic.kr/p/x76V4A). Here we have Captain Robert Knight of Nova Team making his final inspection of the prototype LL-962 “Arrow” before he takes the fighter out on her maiden test flight. Behind him we see Chief Engineer Milton Mason making some last minute adjustments to the port side engine manifold assembly. You can see details images of the LL-962 here: flic.kr/p/xy7Frt

Driven from the front; powered from the rear… A Network Rail test train, comprising Driving Trailer Coach No. 9714, coach No. 62384 and Colas Rail Freight Class 37 diesel-electric locomotive No. 37175, trundles through Kemble en route from Bristol High Level Siding to Swindon on 20th July 2018.

Opened by the Great Western Railway (GWR) in 1882, Kemble served as a busy country junction until the 1960s, serving two branch lines to Cirencester Town and Tetbury. Both lines were closed in April 1964. Today the station offers services to Swindon, London Paddington, Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa.

Thanks for your visit… Any comment you make on my photograph is greatly appreciated and encouraging! But please do not use this image without permission.

Added to Pca assignment group on 1/6/13 for Pca assignment 238... Best of the year.

Wit: I think this image is my favorite of the year and is also my most popular on Flickr.

It quickly went viral and struck a chord with many people. I had so much fun over the summer photographing baby geese and swans at my local pond. When this little one exhibited this balancing posture, I knew I had something. I shot at high ISO ... Hence some noise. This photo is in no other groups but Pca.

Altglas - Test

Voigtländer Macro-Dynar 3.5/100

I'd been searching for this photo for several years and stumbled across it the other day in a totally unrelated folder . . . I've posted a few similar shots in the past, but I remembered this one and am happy I found it!

We all test the water in our own way and at our own pace, whether it's finding the courage to be out and about, making lifestyle changes, sharing our truth with friends and family, or just looking deeply within ourselves for answers to questions that sometimes seem unanswerable. Finding our comfort zone can take years - even a lifetime.

I've always found the ocean to be a place that invites contemplation and self-awareness, and I always leave with memories that sustain me. Increasingly, I find less and less reason to distinguish my purpose in life as either TG or non-TG related, but rather as a whole being who can find ways to live in harmony with myself and others, celebrating all that is good and casting off all that is toxic. Not always easy, but a photo sometimes has the power to help us re-focus our priorities.

Of course, my philosophical ramblings aside, this pic probably just shows me a split second after a freezing wave splashed up my thighs! :-)

-- Testing this relatively inexpensive Nikon gear by shooting into the sun w/o a hood. The Nikkor-H is the 50mm lens that is a 'hidden gem' -- big quality, low price -- but this one is the predecessor, having fewer elements.

Not really had much use from the telephoto lens , so thought I would take it out and try to capture something I have always failed at , capturing a bird in flight.

First attempt isn't so bad , hoping to improve as time goes on , its a completely different game to the macro shots I usually take.

for this photo I put a yellow lamp behind a transparent brick. it was just a simple test for stop-motion.

In 1976, Amtrak tested French and Swedish locomotives on the Northeast Corridor in an attempt to find a replacement for the aging GG-1 locomotives originally built for the Pennsylvania Railroad.

The Swedish model, a R4c locomotive designed by Allmanna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget (ASEA), was designated the X995 during its testing phase. The X995 wears the Amtrak Phase II livery introduced in 1975. EMD eventually built 65 AEM7 motors based on this design and they proved their worth on the Northeast Corridor into the 21st Century.

The test model X995 was approaching Washington Union Station with train 111 at Ivy City, passing an Amtrak P30CH and a Southern E8. Good times in the past.

Not bad for a seven year old, eh?

*I had to do a LOT of tweaking on this as the composition was terrible with lots of foreground clutter.

Testing of the Class 800 IET units on the ECML is ramping up with regular outings for the new trains.

Full introduction is planned from December this year. For the moment, however, the new trains still have some novelty value.
