A 96-well tray for testing biological samples, viewed under polarized light, and illuminated by the dim glow from pictures on iPads. Not to worry, the "biological samples" shown here come from a bottle of a fine French red wine.

35:52 Leaves
After all the hot dry weather we've had, there are dry leaves all over the ground - I think autumn is arriving early. And as long as it doesn't get hot again, I will be over the moon to welcome autumn :)
Not real. Luminar Sky replacement test. Photo actually taken during day. You can make out the distant mountains aren’t masking the sky very well, but overall the Auto Sky replacement works pretty good for one click. The waves would also look very different under a long exposure.

Shot (without prior planning) through a closed window in shadow on a late afternoon under a dim sky. I decided to use this image to test my camera's high ISO abilities and shot it at ISO 51200. I used standard software to remove the resulting color noise, but couldn't improve much in the way of focus. A better than expected result (thanks to noise reduction software). I also like the chipmunk's look of concentration.
Scanned analog test print.
Is the analog process so forgotten that even a test print like this is worth uploading on Flickr?
Test print on blotting paper coated with Foma's liquid emulsion to decide the proper exposure time for Nepalese Lokta paper. 3 sec increment between exposures.
No toning.
Please comment and let me know.
A pair of class 37s, unit 37405 with 37407 tailing, approach Derby some 66 minutes early with the 9.50am Canton Taff Vale Sidings - Derby RTC (1Z33) track-testing train.
The early arrival didn't seem to phase the healthy collection of enthusiasts on the station eager to get up close and personal to these 60yo machines. The train stopped here for a few minutes before reversing in to Network Rail's 'Research and Technical Centre', a few hundred yards out of sight on the left.
Comments off, thanks.

I took a couple test shots with my phone to make sure the composition worked before committing to a series of shots with my camera to stitch together later. Helps me visualize the scene. I posted the other image I took with my Sony a few days ago.
New 500mm 4.5 / trying to figure out if it is as sharp as the 150-450 wide open, it is close between the two I think. Next I need to take some shots on apsc
It's been a busy weekend along the Guelph Sub, with three (that I'm aware of) test trips to London by Metrolinx, plus ballast train CN W933 dumping from Silver to Guelph for Metrolinx, the holiday Monday saw CN TEST RDC 1501 test the Guelph Sub and some adjoining spurs. Returning northbound after running to Preston, 1501 crosses the Speed River on the old 1857 Galt & Guelph (Great Western) Railway trestle.

A dial test indicator consists of a gauge; on the gauge is a pin level mounted on a spring. When the pin contacts a surface, pressure forces the pin lever up, causing the dial gauge to move. Numbers marked on the perimeter of the dial test indicator display the amount of pressure applied to the pin lever.
Focus Shift + Pixel Shift
Sorry, another test image. I took a 20-image photo stack, which included a 16-image pixel shift with the new Nikon firmware v3.00 update. I only took a 20-image stack so the flower would fade off. Any thoughts, +/- are appreciated. Thanks!
