The balance of light and dark in this view of Lake Louise in Canada makes this one of the most pleasing images from that day shooting. I only just got the shots before the storm arrived, and, yes, it is as cold as it looks.
It's incredible seeing how close predators and prey come when they're both aware neither is there to hunt.
During the auction of one of our most valuable pieces of the night -- nearly $10,000 -- the crowd in the studio was silent, yet there was a little bit of activity in this corner of the studio.

We weren't taking any chances when this gator tensed up her hindquarters as though to pounce, and the entire group took a simlutaneous step backwards, but the guide said she was probably just pooping.
