Mom's Birthday Quilt

This was my first shoot with the lovely Blayke. She is a college student home for the summer. We did a small 1:1 shoot at a local park. What a blast. Blayke is so easy to shoot with and very photogenic. She is usually a brunette but went to blonde for a short time. I need to shoot her as a brunette too - hopefully over Christmas break.

I took these photos in July 2017 in Star, Idaho.

I never trespass, but if I were to start this building sure would be awfully tempting, lol :P

Momma bird tempted fate: She built her nest in the lowest crook of my backyard tree, about 6 feet off the ground. Lucky little birdies because my bird-on-the-brain lab/pointer mix (gee, think she likes to chase birds?) can only stretch to 5 feet….

I think they're little Orioles (3 little guys in the nest.)

Added 5/15: The nest is empty now...and the dog was nowhere around when momma evidently pushed them out of the nest.

This escalator is from around 1933 and is made out of wood. It's like going back in time. Stunning!! Took this photo with a Canon FD 24mm 2.8e manual lens.

Lighting: Twin speed lights in a 43-inch-shoot-through umbrella, between 6 and 7 o'clock. Down the stream about 15 feet at between 12 and 1 o'clock is a gridded speed light.

Shot very near the ambient light level, using the flash to add shape, fill and sparkly eyes.
