Someone left these 2 beauties on a park bench early this morning. They seemed perfectly fine, had to resist the urge to have a bite!
We love shooting with Kim - she is so adventurous and she takes direction so well. For this shoot she came over to the house and we shot in our cold garage but she toughed it out. Red wine helped!
I took these photos in late December 2020 in Star, Idaho.
In celebration of BC day (and the extra day off work) I took Jordan and my brother Ryan for a scramble up Needle Peak in the Coquihalla Summit Recreation Area. We had a late start, departing from the trailhead shortly before noon. The air was smoking hot as we ascended steeply through the trees to gain the ridge. It was a beautiful summer day with scenic fluffy clouds hovering above surrounding peaks providing a nice contrast to the otherwise blue skies. Over the next hour the sky changed drastically as storm couds rolled in from the south building all around us. Upon reaching the saddle we had our first view of the peaks to the south which revealed dark ominous storms clouds. As we pushed forward so did the storm, moving in on us and growing more threatening by the minute. Thunder roared through the mountains, first in the distance and then much closer accompianed by lightening. Rain began to fall, and then turned to hail, but still we continued forward, always moving cautiously with an eye on the sky and our retreat in consideration. We could hear the electricity humming in the air but refused to turn back. Driven by adrenaline and courage we commited to the gamble and made the final push. Our time on the summit was very brief as we were all extremely nervous about the risk of lightening, but revelled in our success with a couple quick photos and a moment to soak it in before turning back. As we began to descend the wind grew stronger pelting us with hail and threatening to knock us over. We made it safetly back to the car soaking wet, but in good spirits and cameras full of dramatic photos.
We were certainly playing with fire in our decision to push for the summit in the midst of a thunderstorm and made our decisions as a team. It was completely by chance we were not struck by lightening and for that I am thankful. I had done the route previously in wet conditions and trusted the rocks friction and my own routefinding ability. I am a confident scrambler, but it was Ryans first time in the mountains and he was relying on my guidance. The scramble sections combined with the wild weather were certainly a bit of a shock for him, but he remained composed and in control the entire time. Jordan and I were stoked for the amazing photo opportunity, and we all had a fantastic and memorable day in the mountains.
This is Jordan making his was towards the final scramble shortly before the rains began.
After a long time , its a SOOC smile emoticon Thank you 70D
Macaroni Grill , place where i had most yummy food throughout my stay in Austin. Must visit Italian restaurants in Austin.
Today members of the We're Here! group are visiting shops and sneakily snapping shots of their produce. Believe me, 35 pence for a whole bread roll is a bargain in my local Waitrose, where you pay a fortune for the privilege of enjoying well-lit aisles, less overcrowding and pleasant staff.
The last Saturday of The Texas Renaissance Festival - what a great day it was! Good weather, not too cold, a lot of great people to shoot and chat with. This was such a great weekend to wrap up this edition of the TRF!
The TRF is held near Todd's Mission, TX, about 50 miles NW of Houston, The festival runs for 8 weekends in October-November.
