The opaque stain is still wet, but I'm very happy to have it enclosed from the elements for the winter. In the spring the porch gets a roof. update:spring 2012 and still no porch roof.

And the award for most pointless sign ever goes to... one who's existence is to state it's temporary pointlessness.
During school, I usually can't pay attention in class so I resort to asking my classmates for pens - why would I carry my own? - and my arm usually ends up covered in my scribbles.

Lincolnton, North Carolina
Constructed circa 1920, from 1921-23 it was used as the temporary Lincoln County courthouse while the new courthouse at the time was being constructed. It is listed on the NRHP.
Not the best quality since I was using a point and shoot. I went out just to get cool cloud pictures and the funnel just developed while I was out. As you can see it retreated back up into the cloud but apparently it did touch down just a mile or so from here.
I decided to go back inside when the storm siren sounded and the rain picked up again.
In Western Europe, the era of beguinages started in the 12th century.[2] In Ghent, the construction of two beguinages started in 1234. They were founded by the Countesses Johanna and Margaretha of Flanders. A large part of the beguinage leaned against the city wall.
