Landslip on West Coast Railway Line
The landslip is a couple of miles to the north of Leighton Buzzard and is at a location where Network Rail have got a lot of work to do just to get at the site. This afternoon their contractor Murphy was busy building a temporary roadway.
The land to the east side of the railway has slipped away leaving the London bound line (Up Slow) unsafe to use meaning that all Up trains have to use the Fast line.

When it rains on the north end of Cascade Mountain many of the little slot canyons leading off of Provo Canyon develop some pretty dramatic "temporary waterfalls" Most of these falls disappear during the summer and freeze during the winter. This plunging falls is about 400 yards north of the Upper Bridal Veil Falls. All of these falls including Bridal Veil feed the Provo River.
Some or all of these falls may have names but they are unknown to me. If you know please comment and add the name. Thanks.
On the outskirts of Soweto we passed this village of corrugated iron homes. A passer by informed us that this is temporary housing for a nearby squatter camp. Once th people have been moved into here, the squatter camp will be destroyed and proper housing and roads built on the squatter camp site. In terms of the South African Constitution everyone has the right to basic housing, so squatters cannot be evicted off land they have occupied unless the government provides alternative housing.
Torwood Street, Torquay. This is covering for the stop and shelter outside the Bowling Alley which was demolished a few months ago - and has still not been replaced!
Below it is the notice which Stagecoach have attached to stops between St Marychurch and Torquay, informing passengers that route 32 no longer comes this way having been withdrawn over this section from 28th November.
The temporary platform at Magdeburg, which was good for photos of the passing freights, has now been closed as the station rebuild is mostly complete.
Managed to find this spot but photography at Magdeburg is now rather challenging.

Whille working up a sweat, trudging up the steep path to Catrigg Force I spotted this little fella among the bushes, no doubt hiding from the numerous birds in the vicinity.
Matt found me this sweet little studio for the week while I was in Brooklyn working at Etsy. It was a pretty spartan existence, but I spent most of my time at the etsylabs anyway.
I have a wicked nesting urge, I tell you what. When I went away with the Ramps I set up camp in the dormitory part of the girl guide camp. While they made music I sat here with Kristeva making knowledge. Knowledge is cool, right?

Ice on a concrete canvas in the early evening...is like a thought in the mind...gaze at it long enough and you will see light from which it comes. This energy will shine in it and thru it. Temporary classrooms as the school is being renovated. The placement over a sports field with lines created an illusion of
a designated separation. This view resonated with me; the line in the middle strongly resembled DMZ (www.flickr.com/photos/hanuska/6027547570).

I'd be curious to know who it is doing all of the lettering around Disneyland and California Adventure. Some of it is really nice. But, this looks like they incorporated some fonts too, which kinda disappointed me.

Staple diet of route 20 are currently five high-spec E40D, numbered 504-508. Their length makes them quite cumbersome in a couple of places on the route although they are very pleasant to ride so long as you don’t accidentally sit on a seatbelt as I did !
This is 504 in the temporary bus station at Harlow awaiting its next trip to Ongar .This is a far more leafy and pleasant affair than the bus station that it’s replacing for the time being. 12.6.26.
