"Our revels now are ended. These our actors,

As I foretold you, were all spirits, and

Are melted into air, into thin air:

And like the baseless fabric of this vision,

The cloud-capp'd tow'rs, the gorgeous palaces,

The solemn temples, the great globe itself,

Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve,

And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,

Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff

As dreams are made on; and our little life

Is rounded with a sleep."

Shakespeare, The Tempest, Act 4, scene 1, 148–158.

This image was shot on the day I decided to take a break from posting images on Social Media, it's also a metaphor for what I was feeling that day.

The Tempest in this context is a song title from Mike Oldfield's orchestral album 'Music of the Spheres'. Kind of fits given the spherical rock too...

Might be a little overcooked just to give the image more drama.

Was up about 6 times last night. Mia getting more and more restless at night. Can't wait till she sleeps the whole night through.

If anyone is thinking of coming to Japan, there is no better time to come. Lack of tourist is the main thing! :P

The westbound Taber sub local approaches the Tempest Viterra elevator facility, lead by one of the subdivision's famous SD60s. Due to a huge mix up, I had actually set up here thinking I was about to get an eastbound train, and planned on shooting it with the elevator then chasing it across the line. The headlights of a westbound caught me by surprise, so I had no time to drive down to the other end of the Viterra facility. Instead, I just made do and shot it with the flagpost and thank you sign. Oh well.

This stormy winter sea was taken at the iconic Newhaven harbour arm. Although it was blowing a gale today the tides were lower so the lighthouse wasn't being battered as bad as it can. However, it still made for an impressive sea state

I wanted to spend more time on todays shot but after dinner i had a nap and woke up three hours later! I obviously needed the rest. Anyway this was an idea going a while back, i think it's given the desired effect i was after but because it was a three second exposure, it was very hard to move the lights and keep my face still, this being the best of the bunch. Will want to try this again with hopefully someone else moving them or making a contraption to do it for me.

The Top End's storms are a sight to behold! The sky electrifies as lightning bolts dance above the serene waters of the Mary River floodplain. This dramatic sunset storm in the Top End showcases the awe-inspiring forces of nature at their best.

4. how you think your life would change if you achieved your dream

well, first of all, i have a lot of dreams. but if i acheived all of them, i definintely would be a lot happier and probably a lot more confident in myself because i would know i could accomplish anything.

His name is Tempest (a violent storm), yet when he hears thunder, he ran and hide faster than a speeding bullet 😂😁.

At the time this image was made my wife and I had both lost our jobs within the same week. We were both going through a crisis and called upon our faith to weather the coming storm. God came and opened a door for us to enter when all others closed. We ended up in another state and new careers that give us more fulfillment and a connections to our community.

The Sword of the Spirit (which is the word of God) is represented by the sword in her right hand and Jesus Christ is symbolized by the crown of thorns in her left hand. The water spout represents the devil's schemes and the powers of this dark world.

Oh it was a big fun to shoot this.

First of all I had big problems with focussing. It was almost completely dark(you cannot see that here because I took this with an exposure time of 25sec).

I had to guess the focus and I was really proud that it worked out that well.

The second funny thing was viewing the car drivers which came around and who obviously couldnt believe what I did there:

Just standing motionless with the arms stretched out wide is certainly not what you excpect at 9PM in the village.

Postprocessing was the third big fun. I had to stamp away a big road sign which annoyed my eye. This was almost the only thing that I done in postprocessing here and it took about 2 hours.

But at the end...everything came together well IMO.

If you are interested in a Before - After of this shot why don't you take a look at my new Blog?

Loving this,,from Ivoni Miles - thank you sweetie :)

To most, water represents peace, serenity. It is a calming spirit, soothing, slowly healing wounds, bringing life and breath to a body. And yet, there is another side to water. There is turmoil. Violent storms. Thunder. Crashing waves that swallow you whole. Deep churning, always moving, always flowing, always pushing, always pulling. Water is emotional, vicious, bitter, angry, and at times, maybe, sympathetic.

Water is alive, and water is human.

Felt like uploading something old.

This is the little town of Rome Oregon in the lower eastern part of the state. My friend Bruce and I took an amazing couple of days to drive out and explore. What we found there was amazing. I'll be posting more photos in time.

On this evening Bruce and I had finished photographing a sunset at The Pillars of Rome, an interesting geologic formation of weathered sedimentary sandstone, and had started to see flashes of lighting in the sky behind the formation. We decided to move to a location that gave us a clearer view of the sky. We decided that the little store and gas station of Rome Station and its neon and sodium lights were about as good as any so we set up. The lighting was incredible and was so close that the boom was only a few seconds behind the flash of the lightning.

We were able to get a few shots as the storm front came upon us and started dropping rain drops the size of grapes. As soon as the rain started the wind started to blow. It was an amazing tempest.

This is the best shot that I made while we stood there watching the show.

Painting - Acrylic on Stretched Canvas 24 x 20 inches

This is composed from a myriad of reference photos to create an imaginary scene of drama and, to a certain extent, romance of the sea and the forces of nature.

I am always attracted by the sea and its constant changing conditions but it is not an easy subject to paint well. I hope this work conveys my sentiments to the viewers.
