A new sharpening technique I am playing around with in CS5 by creating copies, layers, edges, blurs, channels ect.. Takes some time, but I like it. Not that this is the best photo for that, but as a test its ok. Anyone interested in the steps to try it out, let me know.

So today I bought this 100% cotton wool to do another cropped cardigan (like the pink one in the comment box) to replace the one my MIL had done for me
There is a part of the pattern that is a bit tricky and I expect I will be referring to an interenet site to remind me how to do it!

I thought since I have no serger that I'd experiment with my rolled-hem foot. I used a zigzag stitch, which in finer/thinner/woven fabric would produce a scalloped edge, but because these are somewhat beefy knits, the body of the knit won over the tension and a fun hem effect evolved! I think I'll use this again in the future.
The term shibori refers to the mechanical resist dyeing techniques used to create patterns on a textile.
Those techniques can be found all around the world. Shibori is the term used in Japan, where they are the most developed (they are usually achieved with indigo dyes).
The process consist in realizing different actions with the textile (folding, sewing, etc.) before dyeing it. These actions allows the dyer to preserve certain parts of the fabric, this creating various patterns.
Gelatin Silver Print (Screen Thechnique).
Underdeveloped an less underexposured negative (low/thin contrast) combined with a translucent paper (of the same contrast/transparency as the negative) in a sandwich. Hard graded bromid paper (Fotokemika Bromal).
For this edit I adjusted the contrast by duplicating the layer and adding an overlay. I used the dodge and burn tools to brighten the eyes. I also used the burn tool in some places that appeared slightly blown out. In addition, I added a slight center vignette.
Bound Buttonhole number II. I've never really had occasion to use this technique, as it's intended mainly for tailored jackets and coats. It came out fine!

Techniques used: Spot healing brush and healing brush on the face to remove blemishes. The second thing I did was whiten the teeth. I did this using a layer mask and adjusting the hue saturation. The last thing I did was try creating an vignette that would help draw attention to the subject. While doing this I also had to play with the saturation in order to prevent washing out the subject.

I recently purchased four of the Echo Base kit at 40% off (minifigs, weapons, tauntauns, and a few other parts are in my Bricklink store - tell me I sent you and I'll give you 5% off). Once I started looking at the parts I'm keeping out of these, I realized I had a decent start for some mecha (even though I've never tried building in that genre before). Here are the resulting ideas. Most of these aren't great, but maybe some of the techniques are useful to someone else.
Also, more macro-mode photography practice. Just how many lights am I supposed to need to make these look good? These were taken with two focused lights overhead and another behind me.
