I recently purchased four of the Echo Base kit at 40% off (minifigs, weapons, tauntauns, and a few other parts are in my Bricklink store - tell me I sent you and I'll give you 5% off). Once I started looking at the parts I'm keeping out of these, I realized I had a decent start for some mecha (even though I've never tried building in that genre before). Here are the resulting ideas. Most of these aren't great, but maybe some of the techniques are useful to someone else.
Also, more macro-mode photography practice. Just how many lights am I supposed to need to make these look good? These were taken with two focused lights overhead and another behind me.
I'm not big on techniques and practices, I'm afraid. I prefer to feel into what nourishes me on any particular day, and nature does the trick most of the time. Like this light shining through, I get recharged and inspired.
Photographic techniques capture electromagnetic wavelengths beyond human vision, revealing features invisible to the naked eye. These signals are processed into interpretable forms using methods like color mapping.

These little girls are from another collage sheet by Paper Whimsy and I die cut the fancy bows and the pretty label shapes. I used rub-ons for the text at the top. At the bottom of each page I attached some old Victorian scrap.

I used the spot healing brush to remove blemishes. I enhanced his eyes with the dodge and burn tools. I also enhanced camera right eyebrow with the burn tool just a bit. I added a contrast (or curves) layer and then took down the reds in his face as well with some hue and saturation adjustments.
They discovered the technique together and it carried them through the years.
Everyone thought it was sex because sex is easy to think. But the technique

Then, when one of you comes through the door and the eyes take over and hold their focus, you see right where it goes, right then, precisely where the nameless part of the soul finds its home. And the technique is alive for another while.

[Technique] = I was planning on trying my hand at HDR with this school, though I did not want to cheat with a simple copy at multiple exposures. In the end with time, I wanted to use something else and practice a bit more with HDR with my PSE 7. I love B&W photos, so this was a nice subtle B&W photo of the old school Trafton in Arlington, WA (which has now plans to be dropped from budget cuts)

Decided on size 12, and it's pretty good. Bit snug around the hips, so I made little vents each side, as inspired by the boxy blouse of my Mum's that I wanted to emulate.
I think a mewdiumweight interfacing would have eebn better than the heavyweight one I used around the neckline, but the alternative I had on Sunday when making it was very old and lightweight, which I felt wouldn't support the linen enough...
The only problem with linen is that, as soon as you bend your arms it creases at the elbows, and it's impossible to put on without doing so!!
