This technique is based on the vintage Sepia technique where an the print was soaked in a potassium ferricyanide bleach to re-convert the metallic silver to silver halide. The print was then washed to remove excess potassium ferricyanide then immersed into a bath of toner, which converts the silver halides to silver sulfide.
This is creates awesome skin tones.

This project was created during my portrait and caricature course at Shenkar college of design. I had to pick 4 characters that had something in common. Well, I really wanted to paint on Chinese lanterns no matter what, so I picked out the most famous and iconically round people (who happen to all be Singers) I know on the planet.

Mexican muralist Miguel Covarrubias designed this sixty-foot long mosaic mural. Composed of glass pieces, Genesis is based on an ancient Mexican myth that four worlds preceded the world we currently live in. According to the myth, four principal deities controlled the four elements—water, earth, fire, and air—and each god destroyed the world once using their element. The gods then worked together to create the fifth, or current world. The images of the mural reference this myth and incorporate imagery from numerous historic cultures in Central and North America.
The mosaic mural was commissioned for a building in Dallas in 1954, but was later donated to the Dallas Museum of Art.

I used a charcoal technique on my Arcsoft5.5 program. I seldom have ever used it. See the picture next to this for the stark contrast between the dull wall and the pretty black cat, and then the vivid colors in the afghan. I thought it worked well, just for a change.

Despite the concept, I couldn’t help but go for style over content and the technique used is a little different...
I love this watercolor technique I learned from a handout from Hero Arts that I received for free at my local rubber stamp store - The Rubber Bowl in Beavercreek. You take a solid (vs. outline) stamp and ink the image with one or multiple colors. You then spray the stamp with a fine mist water bottle, them stamp the image on your paper. (Use thicker cardstock to prevent warping.) To get a lighter image, respray the stamp and restamp, or re-ink and repeat. Very fun! I've been experimenting with different color combinations and have had a lot of fun with this. These cards are the first few I made. I'll have to upload more pics of the different colors.

This technique is an alternative to regular stem cuttings and rooting. Use a nepenthes that is in the vining stage and choose a node that has a large space between leaves.
1. Cut at an angle into the node but not all the way through.
2. Add rooting hormone to the opening. Most types have fungicide which will help keep disease out. Take some long fibered sphagnum moss, wet it and ball it up. Make sure it is very moist then place it into the cut and around the stem.
3. Wrap with clear plastic and tie with twisty ties. The idea is to trick the plant into thinking the ground is higher than it is.
4. Remove plastic when roots develope.
5. Cut the set off under the roots and plant in a pot with proper medium. Bagging and hardening off is optional.
This technique seems fairly straight forward and something I am looking forward to trying out myself.
