For the technique challenge. I heat embossed the clear snowflakes and rubbed it in ink/water to get the blue/purple background like in Shari's 'Monday' video. I then distressed the edges with more purple ink and used my fingernail along it. . Also inked up teh edges of the tag.

Two High is a new font in Swooshable's font directory. Variants have been floating around a long time, but I think the original version can be attributed to William Howard.
You can write with this font using Swooshable's Font Tester. I appreciate any feedback, yay/nay and links, so please let me know if you have any thoughts.

The instructor said he liked the technique and the fact I shot with 85mm. He didn't like the shutter speed I used 1/3200, said I should have used a lower shutter speed, which would have put more color in her coat, although her coat was a very pale purple. He didn't like the fact her hand was cut off and he thinks I should have put more space above her head and take a bit more off the right. He did like the fact that I blurred the background causing her to stand out more. With all that said he told me very nice work.

The inside-door mosaic variation doesn't fit seamlessly inside of the doors - there's a small gap between them.
First thing is to have a plan, because my idea was simple I didn't bother drawing it out on paper first but this would be a good idea for more complex sets. My idea was a basic country lane, the type you get along side fields.
The medium I am going to use is PollyFilla Quick Dry, so I start by squeezing out some onto my base material.

In this photo, I whitened the teeth of Levi, I adjusted the contrast, and I adjusted the blemishes on his face. (I also adjusted the redness of his face but that was because I didn't like how it looked, ha!)
I used the ink smooshing technique on this card, but got a slightly drier look by using less water to mist. I tried several versions of this background with thinner card stock, but the colors ran too much so I switched to water color paper. The tag is by Pretty Pink Posh, the inks are Distress inks in Worn Lipstick and Honey, and Stampin' up Garden Green. I used some of the small elements from the W&W stamp set, Our Town to make the sun and tree, as well as that tiny double stitched line under the tree. I love using those tiny images in stamps sets that you never quite know how to use. The Hello die is by Simon Says Stamp, and is inlaid.

i always stuck with stud.io for the past few years for mocs, but even with how limitless it seems there are still limits to it
mainly just loose parts like in this moc, the legs of the furniture, the fig poses(admittedly not the best haha), the accessories on the table itself, its all things i would try to avoid when designing
i just never really liked the idea of "loose" builds like this, or illegal although im not sure if the chair legs can be considered as such. The table legs for sure, since its just clips on the bottom of the underside "pegs"
i tried to give myself a bit of a task, to try to make a moc with a ton of loose parts to it, nothing really connected to eachother but just that exist together.
ive realized that there are a lot possible when things are held strongly together, but there are also just as many possibilities with things like this, just loosely put together through questionable means haha.
theres no real meaning behind the figs and scene other than its supposed to be that the guy on the right won the game and is just relaxing and leaning back on his chair haha. just what figs I had laying around and what ideas i had. just saw the little space game whatchama call it from the sw falcon sets and thought of this.
Im sure these arent the first ive seen of techniques here, but the table legs im not sure if ive seen that elsewhere, it just came to me when i was looking through my bucket of small accessories for possible table legs when I found the clips. i think it came out really nice
the little cups of whatever, probably alchohol, i found a trans "light" orange 1x1 round tile, so its sort of supposed to be like that both cups dont have the same amount of drink in them, since it gets lighter as there is less of it. not sure if thats really obvious but eh :p
i do like the reflections on the table, unintentional but it came out really good
now looking at it i should have made some kind of wall in the back, but dont have any ideas on what that would be like
at least this moc is small enough so that i can get the proper colors for the builds 😂 even had the parts for a proper-ish floor. I am glad i have a lot of reddish brown 6x6 tiles. I do have some in light bley as well but i thought it didnt really fit the feeling of the diorama
most of my other larger mocs are all sorts of colors here and there since i dont always have many of a part in a certain color. Its easier to work by shape rather than color, i tried sticking to a single color even if it didnt go my plan, and well yeah it looked really bad
A new partnership between the College of DuPage Culinary Arts program and Alexian Brothers Hospice combines cooking instruction with support for men and women moving past the death of their spouses. Every semester, David Kramer, Associate Professor of Culinary Arts, and Laura Lerdal, Culinary Market Supervisor and Lab Coordinator, present “Cooking for 1,” a free demonstration or lab that focuses on cooking techniques for one. Participants also have a chance to help each other as they learn to live on their own.

Another intensive day of preparing routines and practising technique, in preparation for competitions which would start on Thursday, June 2nd 2011.

Please if you have, or know someone who has, tell me! This is too good of a technique to ignore. The pattern here could literally go on forever.
Obviously I can't stop you, but please do not try to copy this, as it will be part of one of my Ideas projects in the future.
