My students learned a few sketching techniques and applied them to the specimens from the next door workshop on wild mushrooms. I tore this page out of my sketchbook from that day and made its own little foldout insert. 10/8/16
El Parque das Nações (Parque de las Naciones) es la designación para el local donde fue realizada la Exposición Mundial de 1998 de Portugal, habiéndose construido, sin embargo, un centro de actividades culturales. De arquitectura contemporánea y espacios de convivencia, trajo una nueva dinámica a la zona oriental de Lisboa y del Municipio de Loures que, en 1990, aún era una zona industrial.
Destacan a lo lejos, las cúpulas de las plataformas de la Estación de Oriente, de Santiago Calatrava, imponiendo su línea arquitectónica; el Pabellón de Portugal, del arquitecto portugués Álvaro Siza Vieira, tiene a la entrada una enorme pala de hormigón armado, que imita la vela de un barco.
El Parque dispone de un Pavilhão do Conhecimento (Pabellón del Conocimiento), un moderno museo de ciencia y tecnología con varias exposiciones interactivas; un teleférico que transporta a los visitantes de una punta a otra del Parque, o hasta a la Torre Vasco da Gama, el edificio más alto de Lisboa.

Tomando ventaja de su localización geográfica, el parque también se orgullo de presentar una Marina turística moderna. La Marina Parque das Nações, dispone de 600 amarraderos para yates de recreo y infraestructuras completamente preparadas para recibir grandes eventos náuticos, con un pontón exclusivo para eventos y un embarcadero del río, no sólo para navíos cruceros o botes históricos pero también como área de apoyo para eventos en tierra. Para los que sean amantes de bird watching, esto es el punto perfecto para la observación de pájaros, una vez que se localiza en pleno estuario del Tajo, uno de los estuarios más grandes y diversos de Europa.
Administrativamente, el Parque das Nações se divide por la freguesia de Santa Maria dos Olivais, en el Concelho de Lisboa, y de Moscavide y Sacavém, en el Concelho de Loures. Algunos sectores de la población del parque y algunos movimientos y partidos defienden la creación de la Freguesía de Oriente, en el Concelho de Lisboa, que englobe las tres áreas en una sola región administrativa.

ماهي تقنية ال QR code ؟ وماهي استخداماتها ؟
رمز الاستجابة السريع أو الرمز المربع (بالإنجليزي : Quick Response code أو QR code). وهو نوع من مصفوفة الشفرات الخيطية أو الباركود (أو الرمز الثنائي الأبعاد) وكان أول استخدام له في تصميم صناعة السيارات. وفي الآونة الأخيرة، أنتشر هذا النظام خارج نطاق الصناعة بسبب سهولة القراءة بشكل سريع ونسبة التخزين العالية. يتكون الرمز من وحدات سوداء مرتبة على شكل مربع على خلفية بيضاء. يمكن أن تكون المعلومات المشفرة أي نوع من البيانات (على سبيل المثال، الأعداد الثنائية، الأرقام ) .
كيفية التعامل معها ؟
يمكن قراءة هذه الشيفرة بواسطة برنامج على الهاتف الجوال / الموبايل وبالأخص بواسطة كميرة الموبايل , بعرض الكود على الكميرا , يتم قراءة الشفيرة والحصول على محتواها .
هناك عدة برامج بأسماء مختلفة تعمل بنفس الطريقة , سيتم وضع روابط لبعض منها و لأشهر أنظمة تشغيل الموبايلات , في نهاية المقال .
ماالفائدة من هذه التقنية و لماذا أردت التكلم عنها ؟
تسهل هذه الطريقة الوصول للمواقع عن طريق الموبايل , حيث يمكن وضع الرابط على هيئة QR code واستخدامه عند الحاجة سواء كان على صورة بجهاز الكومبيوتر أو صورة مطبوعة …

Just liked the abstractyness. Gotta love the fiddy.
Technique:
- Original dark moody photo. Add black and white adjustment layer. Adjust opacity as needed - this one is at about 50%.
- Create a new layer, use the fill bucket to make it a light beigy color. Fill the layer, set the blending to overlay (though I usually play around with most of the blending settings before choosing one. I really loved the color burn setting on this photo, but wanted to keep it simple), and adjust opacity as needed (this one is at about 40%).
Yeah ... that's all. :) I considered adding a raindrop texture, but again, just wanted to keep it simple. I think it's cool in its own right.
Oh! And I almost forgot. My friend Rhoda is rather new to Flickr and has started her own 365 project, so go check it out and make her feel loooooooved. :D
This is a collection of photos combined together to create an entirely new picture. This technique is called Photo Manipulation.
I had a lovely piece of 2x6 butternut; bought it at Jack Parkinson's sawmill in Eramosa around, oh, 1976? I remember I had to pay Jack 85 cents a board foot for butternut in those days, compared to 55 cents a board foot for Hard Maple. Well seasoned, this piece, you might say. It had been waiting for the right project. I was just able to cut the two rockers nested together out of a 40 inch length of this fine wood.
I couldn't just take a tracing from the old rockers: the bottom side had worn away quite a lot, making almost a flat along the centre section. The rockin' hadn't been quite smooth and even for a loooong time
. So I laid out the curves by taking a length of wire to make a compass, straightening it, wound one end tightly around the pencil and attached the other end to a strong nail. The radius was 40 inches. You use the exact same radius for both the upper and lower sides of the rocker. This gives a perfect gentle taper to the piece as you go towards each end.
