My wife broke a nail this morning so I went with her after dinner to her usual nail tech to get it fixed, mainly so we could spend a few minutes together after a long day. It didn't take long to fix and we also had a chance to catch up with some friends that were there at the same time.

Watching my wife get her nails fixed may not be the most exciting life but we enjoy the time together!

THREE DIFFERENT SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN DESIGNED AND BUILT BY PNL FOR EXPOSING SMALL LABORATORY ANIMALS TO UNIFORM, VERTICAL, 60-HZ ELECTRIC FIELDS. ONE SYSTEM IS CAPABLE OF SIMULTANEOUSLY EXPOSING 144 RATS INDIVIDUALLY HOUSED IN PLASTIC CAGES TO ELECTRIC FIELDS UP TO 100 KV/M. EXTENSIVE MEASUREMENTS HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED TO CHARACTERIZE THE EXPOSURE SYSTEMS AND DOCUMENT THAT THEY ARE FREE OF CORONA, AUDIBLE NOISE, OZONE, VIBRATION OR OTHER POSSIBLE SECONDARY FIELD FACTORS THAT COULD PRODUCE ARTIFACTUAL BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS. A SECOND SYSTEM, SIMILAR TO THE ONE SHOWN IS USED FOR EX- POSING UP TO 576 MICE, HOUSED 3 PER CAGE. A THIRD SYSTEM IS USED FOR ACQUISITION OF BEHAVIORAL DATA DURING EXPOSURE AND OTHER SPECIAL APPLICATIONS.
