What is a PC Technician?
A PC technician often referred to as computer technician or PC repair technician is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting and resolving computer issues. They are experienced and knowledgeable professionals with hands-on experience about different tools of repair and maintenance of computer hardware, software and network/Internet issues.
The professionals deal with creating, assembling, installing and maintaining computer systems. The primary role is to address the hardware and software issues. They look into various subjects such as installing new power supplies, upgrading firmware and repairing motherboards in the hardware section, but for the software, they deal with OS troubleshooting/installation, software/application installation, virus scanning/firewall integration and more aspects. Kansas Cosmosphere
An Amazing Find....
During the restoration of the V-2 on display here, Cosmosphere technicians made an amazing discovery. Inside one of the rocket's fuel tanks, the small canister (displayed below) was found attached to the wall. Inside were found the original quality control documents used in the construction testing of the tanks installed in this V-2.
The below document was one of the papers found inside the fuel tank canister. It indicates the tanks were constructed and inspected between Jan. 15 Feb. 20, 1945.
On this document, found in the V-2 fuel tank canister, quality control checks on the variance of the tank welds, dimensions, and other critical measurements were recorded. The page was signed by the engineers in charge of tank production at Nordhausen.
A Window on the German "Mindset:"
Although only the size and population of Texas, Germany nearly brought the world to its knees during World War II. Even to the very end, the German war machine continued to find ways to produce large numbers of new, and ever more sophisticated 'secret weapons." The two documents shown here, with the fuel tank canister from which they were removed, give a small glimpse to the highly organized, focused, and efficient mindset that has long been attributed to the German people.
The document above indicates that the fuel tanks were inspected during manufacture between January 15 - February 20, 1945. They were then installed in the finished V-2 on display here at some date beyond February 20, 1945, probably in early March.
The extraordinary aspect to this point is that only two months after this V-2 was constructed, the German nation would fall in total collapse. Nevertheless, up to the very end, the German mindset still required detailed quality control checks for perfection in construction of most of their military hardware, as evidenced in these documents.
This German mindset was the primary reason why, even in the last days of the war, as many as 20 highly complex V-2 rockets were still being manufactured each day at Nordhausen and shipped to their remote launch sites. This occurred in spite of the fact that most German factories were in ruins, fuel supplies almost non-existent, the transportation system nearly destroyed, and an increasing scarcity of food for the workers.

Technicians prepare for the installation of scanning cloud radars on Mount Soledad in La Jolla, California, as part of the Eastern Pacific Cloud Aerosol Precipitation Experiment (EPCAPE). The 2023–2024 EPCAPE campaign will explore aerosol indirect effects on stratocumulus clouds to help improve their representation in earth system models. Researchers will also investigate how pollution from the nearby Los Angeles metropolitan area affects marine aerosols and, by extension, the clouds near San Diego.
