Submitted for Week #13 of "52 in 2013" flickr group. Theme "Technical, Mechanical, or Machinery"
I am a very sad girl today as yesterday when I moved all my photos to my external hard drive to free up some space on my computer all the photos I had uploaded to Flickr disappeared along with all my contacts lovely comments and any photos that made Explore disappear as well :-(. It happened before and I have now found out that it has something to do with the synchronising of iphoto and the uploaded I use to upload to Flickr. In an attempt to console myself I made a collage of my shots from "52in2013" which I have posted below and have used it along with my MacBook Pro as my shot for this week. Maybe if I had been more technically minded with my computer this would have not happened and hence the tie in with the theme this week. Looking forward to seeing all your takes on the theme. :-)
Detail from the former Technical School on Abbey Road, Barrow-in-Furness which was built 1900-1903 for Barrow Corporation to the design of Woodhouse and Willoughby. The building contractor was W Gradwell and Co. It is listed Grade II.

Photo taken with a Canon T70, 28mm f/2.8 Tokina lens, store brand 200 ISO color print film which is really Ferrania.

I was given three rolls of 35mm Kodak Technical Pan (expired 2002). I hunted around for a development scheme and finally settled on this. Mostly because I had Rodinal. I'm only posting in case some of you still have some in the fridge.

Rodinal 1+150 for thirteen minutes
Agitate with 30 seconds initial inversions, then 3 inversions at 10 minutes,7 minutes,4 minutes, and 1minute counting down. (every 3 minutes)
Regular stop, fix and hypo.
I used 5ml of Rodinal in 750ml of H2O. That gives less than the recommended 10ml of Rodinal but the negatives really look great (full tone scale).
I had to figure out a curve profile as I felt (and still do) that the midtones were not right. Technical Pan is also a dust magnet; lots of healing tool. Even with Rodinal there is virtually no grain.

A small, but colorful and very nice family collection of old things. They have a record collection of baby carriages, and also some pretty rare cars.

Orloj Gros-Horloge
Hodiny jsou instalovány v renesančním oblouku na Rue du Gros-Horloge v Rouen. Hodinový mechanismus je jedním z nejstarších ve Francii (1389). Původně byly hodiny bez ciferníku, pouze s jedním ukazatelem. V roce 1529 dochází k úpravě fasády, při které se hodiny stěhují do současné pozice a jsou celkově nově vyzdobeny. Pozlacený číselník měří v průměru 2,5 metrů a ukazuje nám dny, zobrazuje řecko-římské božstvo, jeho koule na vrcholku navíc opisuje dráhu měsíce.
Renovace byla dokončena v roce 2005 a návštěvníci tak mohou vylézt až nahoru a vychutnat si nádherný výhled na město.
