We planed 2 photo shoots for this week with some corporate people. Initially we had one today and one tomorrow. But it is a busy time for everybody so just tomorrow was scheduled. The plan for tomorrow is for something like the photo above and other concept images as well but I was very surprised to learn that a lot of people; rich, important people like them do not have any clue about the things that are involved in a good photo session and the things that are required from the models especially if they are not professionals and are not really in the mood to pose.
I would have guessed that any man was at least once interested in watching a playboy photoshoot (with perfectly good looking models) that would revel also something about the lighting and modeling that is involved. . . The best example of how clueless they were is the fact that this morning they called the advertising agency that works for them and asked if it's possible to book a photosession with me for today after all( LOL) .
But the best part is not that. . . They also said something about them heaving important guests whit whom they would love to try some concept images and that they have an hour or so in the afternoon for that. Isn't that hilarious?!! It really made my day. We laughed today more then once thinking about it. They are other wise really cool and nice people but you see.... not familiar with photography. Go figure. :)
My son Tyson and the rest of his team at the Billy cart Grand Prix last weekend.
Trying to get 9 hyperactive eight year olds in one place single handed, and then making sure they're all actually in the shot...well, I tried.
I had intended photographing a few of the 80 or so teams, but after two of them, I was so exhausted I had to go and have a little lie down.

Triple Eight Engineering/Red Bull Holden Racing Team practice there pit stops before the start of the Pirtek Enduro Cup
Team of firefighters with Hoses trying to keep the block from burning down. Most of them are standing around just watching though. If you look carefully, one of the hoses has sprung a leak and is watering the plants in the park across the street. Two birds with one stone I guess...
Taken wide open with an old Rokkor 50mm f/1.4 MC lens. Crappy coatings = awesome flare from the street lights. A little noisy at ISO 800, would be easily resolved with stronger noise reduction but I kind of like it - reminds me a lot of film grain - one of my favorite things about the 10MP LiveMOS sensor in this venerable camera combined with ACR's almost magic ability to eliminate all chrominance noise.
Thanks to Lawrence Hoo for the tipoff that there was a fire.
Not the fastest team but definitely the most colorful! 2014 USA Cycling Collegiate Road Nationals. Richmond, VA. Taken during today's time trials. #RVA
Today I went to the Torbay airshow on Paignton Beach. It was a scorcher of a day with an absolutely perfect sky. I took so many photos and I don't have time to edit them all now so going to do them in batches so you don't get bored of them.
First up is the first display team which was Team Raven. They opened the show with a great display and were real fun to watch.
For anyone interested in the technical stuff these we shot with my Canon 80D and a Canon EFS 55-250mm Lens.
The Indian Air Force aerobatic team Sarang (Peacock), flying on the Indian built helicopters 'HAL Dhruv' at the 'Aero India 2011' Air show in Bangalore.
The Sarang's present home is Indian Air Force base at Yelahanka near Bangalore. All of the team's helicopters are painted in red and white and peacock figure at the each side of the fuselage. Also they are equipped with white smoke generators.

In 1972 four crack commando font units were sent to prison by a type foundry for a crime they didn't commit. These characters promptly escaped from a maximum security firewall to global operating systems worldwide. Today, still wanted by the font police, they survive as letters of fortune. If you have a design problem, if no one creative director can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.

The final area on my layout which needed some work is the very front. The siding here is a team track which also has an unloading platform. I scattered a few different details around the area, including a fuel truck and coal auger. These beautiful models are designed by Trevor from Brick Train Depot.
