Albion State Normal School

Established in March 1893, by the Second Idaho State Legislature

Residents of Albion erected and furnished a two-story stone building on five acres of donated land and the very successful teacher-training school opened on September 11, 1894. They soon donated additional land and more buildings were erected. In 1947 the institution became known as Southern Idaho College of Education. It closed in 1951. Magic Valley Christian College occupied the campus between 1958 and 1969. The original building now houses a museum.

A key aspect in ensuring that all students achieve the best possible educational outcomes is for regular classroom teachers and special education teachers to collaborate. Based on our concern that this may not universally occur and to model this for our pre-service students, we brought together the student teachers in the Middle Level Teacher Education Program (MLTE) and in the Special Education Program (SPED) to see and experience collaboration in action.

The seminar was co-taught by Beth Parrent and Candice Rogers (special education teachers at Beaumont Middle School), Kera Ackerman (special education at UK), Dr. Margaret Rintamaa (Middle Level education at UK), the special education student teachers, and the Middle Level student teachers. Bringing these different groups together was a great success!

Hi,

my short remarks about impressions of SF

1. I was surprised that SF College has its own police. I was even more

surprised that people from college police department are not simply

securities, they are real cops! All students and faculty should feel

themselves protected.

2. A big area of Santa Fe College is fantastic. The buildings are

harmoniously integrated into nature. It is what I especially like.

3. Before I visited Santa Fe College I didn’t think a college could have a

professional theater. I haven’t seen performance yet, but I saw equipment

and rehearsing. It is enough to imagine how excellent should be show.

4. President of Santa Fe College who provides policy of openness and

transparency.

Best regards,

Teaching our granddaughter about worms during a chance encounter with one in the garden. Maybe she'll touch one next time - making her braver than me! (Ive had a phobia big time for years but I'm gradually conquering it.)

In June 2018, The Gardens at Texas A&M University celebrated the completion of its first phase: The Leach Teaching Gardens. These seven acres serve as an outdoor classroom where faculty and staff can teach students and the public about food production, landscape beauty, and the natural environment. The Gardens as a whole is meant to be a peaceful sanctuary on campus, a place where everyone at Texas A&M and in our community can relax, enjoy nature, and learn

Something new I'm teaching myself at the moment. Honestly, I have a lot of questions...

Review Gemma Langdon in India Jaipur Teaching Program September 2014.

"Volunteering for a project in India is one of the most valuable experiences you will ever gain. I was teaching in a school that is under resourced and underprivileged in comparison to schools in UK but once you get into it and look past that you will see children who are just adorable! Their eagerness to learn is overwhelming, the children can literally not wait to see the books or resources I had brought and looked over these repeatedly. Yes the project was challenging, both mentally and physically, but anything worth doing never comes easily! The people here are amazing and I can almost guarantee that although your project has come to an end you yourself will not be ready to leave”
