Though not as prevalent as graffiti placed by counter culture warriors, this gang tag is not lonely, as there are many gang tags interspersed with the anti-establishment and socialist expressions. This tag stands out as a gang tag, however, because it was placed out in the open on the base of a light pole along Jefferson Street near the east entrance of the tunnel. The gang tags tend to stick out, because they are meant to serve as visual markers of territory for respective gangs, similar to a dog marking territory with urine.

This is an exhib of formated works commissioned by a french collector who claims to have gathered the "best of street art in the world"...well, although the setting is prestigious and gives a new light on street art, the fact that the works are formated on canvas and in a place where you have to pay to see so called street art is, to me, far from the generosity and free spirit of street art. Of course, the statement of "the best in the world" does not do any credit to this exhib. Yes there are reknown artists out of the 150 presented here but looking at the spread between countries represented, 62 from USA, 50 from France but only one from Brasil, one from Belgium, and none from Italy, UK or Spain is an indication of the irrelevance of such an arrogant statement.

While visiting with and out hiking with my grand-sons and family as the sun set, this guy decided he wanted to tag along for a short distance before crossing in front of us.
I believe I was 3 when this was taken. I combined rules 1 and 3 for these two pics.
The Origins of the Easter Bunny
The Easter Bunny as an Easter symbol seems to have its origins in Alsace and southwestern Germany, where it was first mentioned in German writings in the 1600s. The first edible Easter Bunnies were made in Germany during the early 1800s and were made of pastry and sugar.
The Easter Bunny was introduced to America by the German settlers who arrived in the Pennsylvania Dutch country during the 1700s. The arrival of the "O_ster Haws_e" (a phonetic transcription of a dialectal pronunciation of the German Osterhase) was considered one of "childhood's greatest pleasures," similar to the arrival of Kriist Kindle (from the German Christkindl) on Christmas Eve. It goes on to talk about rabbits and fertility symbols - this is all from Wikipedia.

FloundersFolly was something I came up with when I joined Flickr to share photos and see the stories behind others collections. As a large majority of my collection is from my childhood, I wanted something linked to that (as I only started collecting again in 2010 - thanks DS) and I was reminded of one of my favourite childhood books. I also liked the way it sounded phonetically. No prizes as to what my favourite film is, lol.
