The sculptural, porous form of Polyhedra Modular Coffee Tableᵀᴹ finds its inspiration in the micro world of organic bone structures as revealed by Scanning Electron Microscope images.

The complex geometry is derived from Weaire-Phelan space packing structure, and is made up of interlocking dodecahedrons and tetra-decahedrons. These have been rotated and split at an angle that creates a seemingly random pattern, yet it is made up of only five different shapes. Multiples of the five shapes are effortlessly assembled to one another using neodymium magnets. This enables users to playfully create their own randomly shaped coffee table. One could describe it as “post-rational” Lego for grown-ups.

About ready to go by our bedside. Needs a little light steel wool and a coat of wax.

OurDailyChallenge "Table Top Photography"

I know this is not exactly what was called for on this challenge, but I decided it was open to interpretation and I ended up here. This is the top of our coffee table which was originally painted green but has seen much of that paint worn off over the years. It dates to the late 1800s.

I made this table cover out of oil cloth to go with the general kitchen theme of my booth. While I love the way it turned out I will never make another one! What a pain!

This is one of the tables which I made recently for Karen Deans, a Bethesda artist. Karen paints and prints using wooden tiles as her canvas ( more about her and her work at www.woodentile.com ).

She had been making mostly hanging pieces, but thought that it might be fun to use one of the tiles as a table top.

She wanted something simple and light that would not clash or distract from the artwork on the top.

I made them in three sizes, 24", 28" and 32" high. All are 16" x 16". Base material is Maple.

This is a picture of one of the medium height tables which a friend of hers took.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN--This is a lovely dining table in the vintage industrial style. An accordion-type metal piece unfolds to support the metal table-top. 135cm long, 89cm wide, 74cm tall.

Spotted at an antique shop in Bulacan.

That's a new table, and it's only because Mina is such a darling spoiled princess kitten that she is allowed to sit on it.

I've made a table runner matching my rainbow pillow (it must be quilted).

The only problem is that we don't have a table in living room:)

Oh the joys of the holidays!

My role in my house thanksgiving was table decorator. I made the place cards in less than an hour. All you need is a template from Microsoft Word, a hot glue gun, and a nature walk in the front yard :)

Playing around the dining table :-)

Who remembers these game tables in the pubs. This one was in the St Fagans pub in Penarth. But no self respecting pub in the early 1980's was without it's Pac-Man game.

Pulled this table out again....was so inspired by Inge's poppy's again!!.....I decided to donate this one to the Alzheimer's ball this year....thank you Inge for the advise on the leaves when my saw took a crap!

Looking at Table Mountain from Lion's Head. The 'tablecloth' effect is happening, where clouds fall off Table Mountain almost like a waterfall.
