I found this crappy old table by a dumpster (yeah for living in a college town!) and it was in bad shape, but I liked the base. I had some more metal file boxes, so I painted them up and put them together to make a new end table with a little storage.
One of the tougher hikes/climbs in the Gorge. Table Mountain is a real bitch to get up. The trail(if you can call it a trail) is known as the 'heart break trail'. The interesting thing about Table mountain is that the cliffs you see are what are left after a huge slide that happened 600-800 years ago. The rocks that slide blocked the Columbia and create the 'Bridge of the Gods'. The Columbia River finally overcame the natural rock bridge but it remained an Indian legend, passed down for generations. Today the river still bends in this location from that slide off Table Mountain.

A shot of one of the tables inside the Rusty Scupper. I did all of the centerpieces myself using flowers, candles, ribbon, and vases found online and at various shops near my home. The Scupper's dark blue water glasses melded perfectly with our navy and yellow theme.
Table for two? In blue, of course.
No photoshopping. Only sharpened. 1/2 second, F 2.8. I've been playing with manual settings on my little digital camera.

I'll admit that the weather little to do (it was drizzling) with the cheery mood I was in during this lunch. It was likely the clean modern dining room and the delightful yellow daisies peppered throughout the dining room that lead to such sunny, peaceful feelings.
