Built in 1888

The design was by Huckson and Hutchinson of Hobart and built by a local builder, Mr. John Luck. The bricks came from Victoria as ballast.

Materials were brought to the site, from Wynyard 7 kilometres to the south, by bullock wagon.

Less than three weeks after the opening of the light the headkeeper's son, Bertie died at the age of 14 months.

The cause is not known, but it is the cause of a sad entry in the lighthouse log book.

"Wind south. A strong breeze and misty weather. Employed in the lighthouse and cleaning up about station. At 5.10 p.m.

Bertie Jackson, son of the head lightkeeper, departed this life aged one year and two months."

The undertaker struggled up from Wynyard on horse back with the small casket and after consultation with the clergy recommended that Bertie be buried near the lighthouse were his family could tend to his grave.

He was placed in a grave marked by a fuchsia bush. The bush has long since disappeared, but locals who knew the place have recently constructed a memorial.

One of the rarest times when i actually arrange things for the photograph. The racket positions the ball and even the light in the background was thought of :)

I put together a kid's table so they would have plenty to do. The centerpiece isn't flowers or candles, because of obvious reasons, but the centerpiece does include princess wands, lollipops, glow sticks, and heart straws. At each plate there is going to be a princess coloring book (which I put together myself), a box of crayons, and a tiara

this is my second shot with my soft box, for this i used two lights. i am satisfied with the results and need to improve too.

This is a shot of the clutter on my bedside table. I think it sums me up really well. From left to right I've got:

1. My favourite perfume - Paul Smith's Rose

2. A handmade ceramic tile with a heart squiggled on it

3. Lush moisturiser (I <3 Lush!)

4. Handmade ceramic pot I got from a medieval fayre with makeup brushes inside

5. Gorgeous wooden and ceramic trinket box, filled with treasures and my clear quartz crystal on the top, pointing to where I sleep

6. Centrum multivitamins!

7. An assortment of Clinique products - I am a beauty junkie

8. Remote control! I watch a LOT of films...

9. Scented candle

10. My diary and current book, always close to hand

11. My hand mirror, interestingly posed away from me (not intentional) - I like to look good but also have issues with my image!

12. My beautiful lamp which casts a warm glow in the safe haven o my room.

It looks messy but it's mine - all the things I love and need are kept close to me.

My wife and I bought several bunches of these sunflowers off a market stall, arranged them in a tall vase to display on our dining table. I had an idea to photograph them under natural light in our conservatory. The pictures were OK but nothing special. I love art and older paintings in particular and recalling a visit to the National Gallery where I saw Van Gogh's Sunflower painting I used Photoshop to produce a more impressionistic picture of my wife's sunflowers.

This was a shot for a downtown brochure to cover dining. I used 4 lights here and some creativity to get thm all to trigger. For the table and people i had two hensel strobes, one to the left and one to the right, bounced into umbrellas. the background was very dark so i added two nikon flashes sitting on chairs and aimed at the ceiling just to throw some light around. I had a pocket wizard on the camera and on one nikon flash. I had a wein optical slave on the other flash and the hensels have them built in.

It was taken in Millenáris Park where all the cows were collected to at the end of the 2006 Budapest parade.

This one is called Terítő tehén which translates something like 'Table-cower'.

Have a look at my other cow shot.

Another composite, 3 photos: the background, the ball, and me. I needed to do 3 photos, tried to do it with one but I couldnt time it properly to get the effect that I had wanted and the shadows coming from me were too harsh. 2 flashes, one on the hotshoe with a bounce card and the other to my left in the photo
