The AJ Lamp, the iconic lamp designed in 1960 by Arne Jacobsen for the SAS Royal Hotel Copenhagen (together with the Egg and Swan chairs). It’s manufactured by Louis Poulsen.
Strobist information:
Two D-Lite 4 it with Portalite 66x66cm soft boxes for rim light. A gelled (CTO) 430EX on the background (zoomed to 105mm) and a second snooted 430EX to give a little bit of extra light on the books. Black flags where placed between the rim light (camera right), so that the books would not be overexposed (as they were very close to the soft box). Metering done with the Sekonic L-358, everything triggered with the Skyport sytem.

Federico de Majo is the founder + designer of Zafferano.
Born and raised in Venice, Italy, he spent much of his formative years on the fiery factory floor of his family’s glass-blowing business, Vetreria De Majo.
It is in the studio of Vetreria De Majo
where he first learned the historical techniques
of glass blowing,
and later began developing a body of work.
Federico currently lives and works in the lush countryside
of Treviso, while his soul is securely anchored
to the island of Murano.

Found inside a hallway at the William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh. Built in 1916 a luxury hotel in the heart of the city, the hotel still has many "old time" charms to it.
Looking at this now I realize I should have taken the time to make both lampshades sit the same. But, as I was sneaking around this building (the same as I did in Heinz Hall), I figured it was best to shoot and go.

Contrary to what many people believe, a Tiffany lamp is nothing to do with the jewellery company of the same name – nor indeed, the perpetually elegant Ms Holly Golightly. Instead, it’s meticulously designed and handmade by the company founded by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1943), an American artist and designer noted for his work in Art Nouveau stained glass. He created his first lamp in 1895 or thereabouts – and the rest, as they say, is history.
I photographed this short set of images, with the manager’s permission, at the Tiffany shop in the Starhill Gallery, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – quite the most upmarket shopping mall I’ve ever visited.

I used a simpe (non LEGO) table lamp with a simple socket and a switch and surrounded it completely with LEGO.
There's a black cat, a pumpkin, a (rainbow) ghost and a vampire castle.
It's built in a modular way, so that each side panel can be easily removed and replaced by any other motif when it's not Halloween any more.

Random photo of our hotel room in Las Vegas. I like it a lot and I loved the hotel so I figured I'd put it up.
We stayed at the Vdara hotel just off the strip in Las Vegas for a week. I've been to Vegas many times. This hotel, and room, was by far the best I've ever stayed in. Outstanding views and design. I won't go on and on about it but it was awesome.
