Halloween themed table lamp.
I used a simpe (non LEGO) table lamp with a simple socket and a switch and surrounded it completely with LEGO.
There's a black cat, a pumpkin, a (rainbow) ghost and a vampire castle.
It's built in a modular way, so that each side panel can be easily removed and replaced by any other motif when it's not Halloween any more.

Thanks to a friend's suggestion to change my profile picture, I started thinking about how I wanted to do a self portrait. Then I remembered someone's work I came across last year: Andrzej Dragan. His work can be seen at andrzejdragan.com/.
While researching on how to replicate his style, I came across a photoshop action called "draganizer" (http://www.atncentral.com/download.htm). Definitely saved a lot of time when try to recreate the Dragan style.
I got the portrait composition inspiration from...while using the urinal in a cinema, of all places...
Perhaps Best viewed large and on black

While attempting this admittedly not particularly successful view I was approached by a security guard from the Design Centre who asked if I had a permit to take a photograph here. I told him I was a tourist and to clear off but he was most insistent that as the street was private property I needed permission. Needless to say I just ignored him. What are they afraid of - that I am going to illustrate how silly their street lamps look that ape tablelamps - one can be glimpsed between 'Design' and 'Centre'?

My second novelty cake and I gave myself a challenging one. This one took long to make. Only because their hair (maggie, bart, and lisa) are so abnormal. But it was a fun! I tried to make everything look exactly like the cartoon. From the Simpsons family all the way down to the side table.
Where's the cake you ask? They are sitting on it, the couch.

Contrary to what many people believe, a Tiffany lamp is nothing to do with the jewellery company of the same name – nor indeed, the perpetually elegant Ms Holly Golightly. Instead, it’s meticulously designed and handmade by the company founded by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1943), an American artist and designer noted for his work in Art Nouveau stained glass. He created his first lamp in 1895 or thereabouts – and the rest, as they say, is history.
I photographed this short set of images, with the manager’s permission, at the Tiffany shop in the Starhill Gallery, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – quite the most upmarket shopping mall I’ve ever visited.

I believe these are from the late 70's-early 80's. I can't figure out where to put them, but I'll think of something.
(I'm a sucker for the "flexible" neck lights. The space age look to them didn't hurt either..
I almost didn't buy them, but since it was my b-day and I had to go in to work, I figured I'd treat myself to something I didn't really need. LOL!
Update: After doing some digging, I think these were made by a company called "Fagerhults" (Sweden) in the 1970's. They came in several different colors and I really wish I had found some orange ones! (Saw a photo of them and they looked VERY cool!)
