The brilliant shot of sparkling and clear alcohol bottles is a visual treat of intoxication. The colorful yet subtle background only enhances the look of the lined bottles!

A very small section of a wooden table lamp. It’s made of many thin layers of wood laminated together and then very highly varnished. It’s the most beautiful shape and I just love it. For Macro Monday theme Made of Wood.
This bedside lamp is in Fran’s guest room. It grabs my attention. Fran is an interior decorator. I could spend days capturing her eclectic joys and visual delights...
Sometimes a splash of morning light, or even at late afternoon can add a lot to a day...
I enjoy the little things of daily life, whatever it might be...an object, light and shadows, a child´s hand, a lovely face...

Have a great Wednesday and many thanks for stopping by, as always...

This shot was more accident than plan and boring, but regardless here it is, in our downtown Vancouver condo.
Was setting the camera on tripod for an early morning long exposure outside. It was too cold (for me) to fuss with camera settings on the deck. Managed to fire the camera with the remote many times and this is one result.
Night Light - The table lamp that thinks it is a street light.
Wide awake in the middle of the night and I saw the shadow of the bedside lamp on the wall and ceiling.
Week 44 - Night
This is a bedside table lamp that imagines it is a street light.
Photographed from a pillows eye view.
Stuck indoors while smowmageddon was howling outside. I shot this using the mono setting on the OM1 mk ii, which saves both a b&w jpg and the RGB version. Thought I'd try combining both images in post, retaining just the gold/yellow bits from the RGB. February 15, 2025.
PLEASE: Do not post any comment graphics, they will be deleted. See info in my bio.
These are leaves picked up from a walk yesterday. I love the drama of using a black background for flowers, leaves etc and I'm beginning to experiment with my lighting more as I've tended to use mostly natural light. I definitely don't like using flash and it gets too complicated for me to fiddle around with bouncing light etc. I'm an old soul and the simpler and easier I can make my life the better !!
I've bought led lights and torches etc which have turned out to be quite useless and I keep promising myself that I will invest in a proper light that I can fix onto a stand [tripod?]. But meanwhile, I've just rediscovered a magnifying tablelamp that I used to use in the days I painted miniatures and it has a heavy duty stand that I can just about manage to manoeuver. I ignore the magnifying part [although I think it might come in handy for my macro shots] and direct the light where I want it. It has a great extending arm that I can move about with ease.
I often use this lamp to photograph small items. I like the reflections it shows from various lenses. I shot a bunch of reflections from the front surface, and deeper, elements from my Canon SX60 HS camera's lens. Somehow, I prefer this simple image of a readily available and easy to use photographic tool of proven value. It is a trusted part of my photography gear.

Some winter mornings in Vancouver there is no sunrise nor view as it can be very foggy, like this January 2022 day @ 08:17.
My granddaughter came over to visit last weekend. The weather was miserable, so my son & I took her ten pin bowling followed by a meal at Whitford House Hotel in Wexford. Always a great experience, superb food & service. The whole place was looking very festive.
