Lake O'Hara is one of the best-preserved places in the Canadian Rockies. It sits high in the Canadian Rockies at an elevation of 2,020m (6,627 feet). It is a beautiful sub-alpine glacial lake surrounded by the towering peaks of the Canadian Rockies. There are so many accessible trails starting right from the lake, hikers can easily spend days here without getting bored. But 11-kilometer to the lake in one way from parking lot, you can either take the shuttle or hike in. If you are lucky to reserve the shuttle, you can spare this 22-kilometer walking, save the energy to climb 10~20 kilometers mountains. Access to Lake O’Hara is strictly controlled with a reservation system, which means that it is never crowded.
Luckily got camping reservation for 3 days, it was pure nature without cell signals and electricity. Unfortunately, it was raining and cloudy most of time, plus the forest fire from Jasper, the sky was covered with foggy most of time. Here is the view of Lake O'Hara and adjacent Mary Lake, the crystal-clear lakes, hanging valleys, towering snow-capped mountains, and the pristine nature that shows the best Yoho National Park has to offer.

An anti-lock braking system, is a safety system on motor vehicles which prevents the wheels from locking while braking.
A rotating road wheel allows the driver to maintain steering control under heavy braking, by preventing a locked wheel or skid, and allowing the wheel to continue to forward roll and create lateral control, as directed by driver steering inputs. Disadvantages of the system include increased braking distances under some limited circumstances (ice, snow, gravel, steel bridges, anything other than dry tarmac) and the creation of a "false sense of security" among drivers who do not understand the operation, and limitations of ABS.
A few weeks ago my husband said "every good
bar needs a good HIFI system" and he showed
me a picture of a radio from the 90's.
When I called it radio, my husband told me:
"honey, it's not just a RADIO, it's a high-end HIFI
system that used to be very popular".
Now it's finished, my husband is happy with
how it looks, it wasn't easy, i installed
some functions so that you can use it on
the parcel as a "radio" 😂. It can store
7 stream channels, you can turn it on and off.
Its possible to take a first look in my shop inworld 👍 .
This HIFI system will be released on November 10th @ Equal10.
Hoping to see the creature that made this amazing web system in our garden overnight. And, how 'bout that gigantic slug! 😮 Gardens do interesting things this time of year.
a water jet, an input/output-system like a radio, a chess-computer, a guitar, a camera, a brain, a cow, a spoon, human hands, a mirror, a revolver, a loudspeaker...

CSX 1982, the Seaboard System Heritage Unit, is in charge of a big I031 at Fleet, beginning their journey through Virginia on the RF&P sub. This is definitely my favorite of the ones they've released so far, and I was super happy with how this turned out. I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing and photographing more of these, and very much hoping for an RF&P unit to shoot on the RF&P. Thanks to everyone who tracked this, our railfan community down here is pretty awesome.
The Seaboard System’s only two A units make a reverse move to run around their train at Martinsburg, West Virginia.

In a simplified view, the Colorado River Aqueduct transfers water from the Colorado River to the municipal water systems of Los Angeles County, California. Of course, not much is simple when we're discussing water in California. Most municipal water systems have tie-ins to neighboring systems. In an earthquake, or catastrophic system failure, water officials can quietly turn some valves and fill reservoirs through the reconfigured plumbing. The Colorado River Aqueduct also ties in with portions of San Diego County. It's operated by Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Your tax dollars at work.
This is a view of the aqueduct as it crosses the Mojave Desert on the way to Los Angeles. The channel is roughly (my estimate by uncalibrated eyeball) twenty feet wide.
It's tough to find a place where you can photograph the aqueduct from a public road. I found one about two months ago and finally made it back around sunset to get this shot.
There's a wad of public policy issues tied to water in California. The book Cadillac Desert by Marc Reisner reveals some of them.
Per capita water use in Sacramento is 271 gallons per day. In Oakland and other East Bay Area cities, it's 171 gallons. Los Angelenos, though, use only 155 gallons a day.

The place where this cart comes from is approximately two miles away.
Who takes the cart and bring it to the sea?
I have so many questions now...
According to LiveScience.com, studies suggest this jumping-calling behavior is a test of the community's emergency alarm!
I haven't been here for a while, waiting for proper winter conditions.
I always loved the shape of the Blondin support tower, the aerial ropeway system that lifted carts of slate out of the bottom of the quarry. I'm not sure where the other end was secured to on the opposite side of the quarry but it must have had equally substantial fixings.
There are some climbers, slightly below centre of this shot.
Think "Holland" and you've probably already conjured the iconic images of tulips and windmills. More precisely, the very specific windmills you're envisioning right now are that of Kinderdijk.
Though it may sound odd for how technical and pragmatic the region proved to be, the name Kinderdijk translates in Dutch to mean "children's dike." According to local legend, after a particularly terrible flood in the 15th century, a lone basket was left floating in an inundated canal. Upon closer inspection, a cat was found bounding from one side of the basket to the other in an effort to keep it balanced, for inside rested an orphaned baby. The cat had kept the babe afloat, safe and sound during its journey… Thus giving the world the folktale "The Cat and the Cradle" in addition to the village of Kinderdijk its name.
Back in the modern day, visitors will find 19 historically authentic windmills scattered across Kinderdijk's canal-riddled landscape. With their sails raised to the skies (coming to rest in formations that communicate across the bogs in a language of semafors), one could be forgiven for believing these are creatures beholden to the air. What history reveals, in fact, is that the Netherlands' famous windmills are well-disguised creatures of the sea, without which the nation's famously innovative water management system would not have been possible.
Sometime in the 13th century, Zuid-Holland's peat rivers ceased to drain as they had been, creating a pattern of flooding that devastated the beautiful landscape at Alblasserwaard, which already existed below sea level. Berms were built to prevent flooding, but pumping stations needed to be constructed to continue water flow from low to high areas; hence, the 19th windmills still seen today.
Nowhere else in the world offers a complete portrait of early water management like that of Kinderdijk, which accounts for UNESCO's inclusion of the site among its World Heritage as of 1997 for its "unique character." Thanks to its truly groundbreaking unification of sea and sky, plus the added bonus of a world-renowned folktale, a visit to Kinderdijk is the sort of treasure that offers something for dreamers and pragmatists alike. www.atlasobscura.com/places/windmills-of-kinderdijk
The ‘Herbstlabyrinth’, the largest cave system discovered to date in Hesse, has been open to the public since 2009. In total, the halls and corridors of the stalactite cave that have been explored so far are over 13 kilometres long at a depth of around 90 metres. The entrance to the cave is located between the villages of Breitscheid and Erdbach in the Lahn-Dill district.

This is the Piazza Monti di Gibellina, one of the set-piece civic spaces created as part of the construction of the new town of Nuova Gibellina, Sicily. The town was built from scratch, from the 1970s onwards, to replace the original town (10km away) which was destroyed by an earthquake in 1968.
This square is one of a series of similar spaces called 'Sistema Delle Piazze' which were designed by Franco Purini and Laura Thermes.

All the photos I present were taken in the town of Taormina (Sicily);
I made photos related to "street photography";
I photographed people who, for the most part, I had never met before, I thank them for their sympathy and availability;
I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking down the street ... in search of fleeting moments ...
I met a lady no longer young, who told me that, when she was seven years old, she met Salvatore Giuliano, the bandit (!) on Mount Ziretto (a mountain that is located above Taormina, in the territory of Castelmola), in telling she looked up and pointed at him, it seemed she was seeing him at that precise moment ....! (ah! if only I had had a special camera to capture the images that at that moment were resurfacing in the mind of that very nice lady ....!), she described it and ... she saw it (!): if she remembers it tall, handsome man, boots that reached mid-leg, rifle over his shoulder ....! and then the lady added: of course, I didn't know who that man was, they told me this afterwards ....! I photographed what I believe was a small advertising shoot, thanks to the availability of the photographer and the models (thank you for giving me some of their precious time ..!).
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production.
---------------------------------------------------------
Tutte le foto che presento sono state realizzate nella cittadina di Taormina (Sicilia);
ho realizzato foto riconducibili alla “street photography”;
ho fotografato persone che, per la maggior parte, non avevo mai incontrato prima, le ringrazio per la loro simpatia e disponibilità;
