The story of the swatch.
Funny thing is, I know I've knit more swatches than this, I just can't think of where they are. Sometimes I swatch and then rip it out right away to use the yarn. But other swatches must just be littered around my house.
This is a bag of long-out-of-date fabric swatches from the brilliant "Strawberry Fayre" fabric company, don't you think they are just begging to be made into something?

Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Van's US Open Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracels took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the bright sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS, but still awesome and enough I felt!

I was inspired by the post at the purl bee (purl soho's blog) to create some swatch portraits. Super easy and fun - just load the fabric in the embroidery hoop - glue if desired - then hang.

This has been my most worn Swatch. Basically stopped wearing this one around 2003 as it just seems to be worn out. I can put a new battery in it and it will run, stop and start back running and then stop again. Gears must be just worn out! Worth every penny!

These 3D-printed nylon swatches demonstrate some of the features of our Kinematics Cloth system. They were designed to be touchable sample parts that accompany one of our dresses in an exhibit.
Muitas meninas pediram nos comentários, então eu fiz!
Tentei ser o mais precisa possível, e saíram todos bem fiéis, sim!
Usei 2 camadas em todos, e aproveito pra elogiar novamente a cobertura, já que o Boca de Sino e o Hippie de Rua, por exemplo... Cobriram bem com uma só, passei duas pra melhor acabamento. Já o Boho Chic ficou bom com 3, e o Camelo eu passei só duas mas depois vi que 3 seria o ideal.
Sobre os flocados: estão por cima do Black, da Colorama, uma camadinha apenas, são bem cheios de flocos mesmo. Gostei bastante. Tem muitos flocos, mais que base!
O Love Story segue a linha do Fantine da Sancion Angel e o Paz e Amor é um Mary Poppins.
Usei os SAs pra dar uma noção porque foram os primeiros!
Mas brilham bastante, apesar do Paz e Amor só variar entre azul, azul mais claro um pouco e um verdinho água. Enquanto o Love Story é aquela história do Fantine: varia entre laranja, amarelo e verde.

2006 Pantone Matching System® (PMS) coated swatch spread out to reveal all of its colours. Although predominately used by printers and designers, many trades take advantage of these guides to indicate their preferences.
There are different swatches to show the effect of material (ie coated or uncoated stock), tints or producing the specific colour from four colour process (CMYK). They should all be stored out of sunlight and Pantone® recommend they be replaced annually. This swatch also gives the quantities of basic colours (by part and percentage) to mix to obtain the desired PMS shade.
