On today's menu is the elegant looking SWATCH borrowed from my mentor/friend & one of the most intellectual being I have ever met - Ashok Sir. Thank you for lending me this beauty for the shoot.. :)
NOTE: For all the people who might think that I might have forgotten to leave the arms of the watch @ 10.10, i purposely put it to 4.20 due to the desgin of this watch.. :).. The standard 10.10 principle is followed so that every dial could be visible clearly including the logo. IMHO, the current placement of the arms works the best for this model.

Strobist Info
YN560 Flagged @ 8.30 and @4 o'Clock
YN560 bare flagged, over pointing at the subject @ about 30 degrees
The flashes were flagged so as to avoid spill on the BG
The subject was placed in a light tent so as to avoid any distracting reflection
Mirrors and white form core was used for backlighting( so that the subject does not get merged with the black BG) and fill respectively... :)

Hope u guys like it.... Good day!
These are my multi-coloured crochet swatches. I've always called them my tapestry crochet stuff, because the term tapestry to me just meant "multi-coloured pattern". I have since found though, that Tapestry Crochet seems to have a very specific meaning amongst tapestry crochet enthusiasts. These are mostly worked in shallow crochet (sometimes called faux knit stitch).
I got a lot of the designs from Alice Starmore, Tone Takle and Lise Kolstad.
Most are superwash wool DK worked with a 4mm hook. The two in the top right are both cotton, and the small red one in the centre with to two isolated motifs is worked in Kroy sock yarn.
I "trap" the unused colour inside the stitches as I work, so there are no travelling threads showing on the wrong side.
Shallow stitch has a significant bias and has to be wet-blocked to be straight.

These 3D-printed nylon swatches demonstrate some of the features of our Kinematics Cloth system. They were designed to be touchable sample parts that accompany one of our dresses in an exhibit.
The swatches have landed finally!
I will scan or photograph one by one tomorrow or on wednesday. I am so busy now... >_>;;
To my dismay I noticed that the print has been printed on lopsided, that is, the grain is off. I will study it closer and contact Spoonflower if needed. They are always helpful with troubles, but I feel embarrassed to contact them, haha. ;)
Many of the prints are what I excepted them to be (colors and scale etc) while some other I feel "no that's wrong". ;) That's the reason of ordering swatches after all!
Some of my fave fabrics. The watermelon-lovin' child (oh, who DOESN'T love watermelon THAT MUCH?) is from a dish towel by folk artist Nancy Thompson.

BJSS!!

The story of the swatch.
Funny thing is, I know I've knit more swatches than this, I just can't think of where they are. Sometimes I swatch and then rip it out right away to use the yarn. But other swatches must just be littered around my house.
This is a bag of long-out-of-date fabric swatches from the brilliant "Strawberry Fayre" fabric company, don't you think they are just begging to be made into something?
