I was nominated by Andrew Smith a fellow London photographer/ walker and the best design/printer in town! I needed to post a black and white image everyday for 5 days, and at the same time nominate another person to do so with each post. These are the results.

Two MMC families came forward to pledge support for the children for the number of years it takes to give them all an education. Therefore, they will not have to work on the tea plantations at age 12 or be exploited in any way. The children’s ages range from 17 down to 6 years. The oldest, Asay, is a boy. The other 3 are girls. Asay stopped his education when his parents died because he wanted to keep his sisters together with him in their home. He went to work on a tea plantation. The work is seasonal so he was not earning enough to support the family. In 2011, the principal of the school told 2 MMC team members of the plight of the orphan children. They pledged to support the family until the youngest had reached the highest standard of schooling offered at the Loi Kaw Wan School.
Falling is allowed; rising is an obligation.

Boots support office attemped to beat the world record for the longest human & soft toy chain. Human - Teddy - Human - Teddy ... The previous record stood around 600 which was smashed. Final result came in at 1040!

Residents of Kasangombe Sub County in Nakaseke district have been lauded for supporting the construction of a Health Centre III extension facility through donating land and offering financial support to the project.
While engaging locals in a discussion aimed at joining forces in order to complete the construction works, Rev Fr Mbalire Emmanuel the Executive Director of UDCCF commended the community for contributing towards the initiative that does not only improve their health standards but also helps in bringing quality health services closer. The project is being supported by the Rose Namayanja Foundation together with Uganda’s Development Community Caring Friends (UDCCF).
“I would like to thank you for welcoming us and allowing us to work together with you. Today we have come to join you not only to inspect and see how far the construction works have prevailed, but to also thank you the community for supporting the project to help it reach this level,” Rev Fr Mbalire said.

RiceAdvice – a science-backed decision support tool that provides farm-specific advice on rice management practices in Africa – drew the attention of visitors to the booth showcasing technologies under the program “Putting Research into Use for Nutrition, Sustainable Agriculture and Resilience (PRUNSAR),” at the African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) 2019, 3-6 September, in Accra, Ghana.
More than 2,000 high-level dignitaries and representatives of development institutions, international organizations, tech leaders, agri-preneurs, farmer associations and non-governmental organizations, among others, participated at AGRF 2019, which was organized under the theme “Grow digital: Leveraging digital transformation to drive sustainable food systems in Africa.”
