Today, similar as yesterday I'm showcasing Salzburg's cityscape from the Müllnersteg, the same location as yesterday's post. Hence, allow me to refer to yesterday’s post for more information about the various building on display. The only difference from yesterday’s post is the time of day. Yesterday's photo was taken shortly after 6:00 pm, while this one was captured just before 7:00 am, right before the city lights were turned off. I'm curious to know which photograph you prefer. - Müllnersteg, Salzburg, Austria.

I cant say where I shot this but it was somewhere within 100 miles southwest of Chicago. Its almost weekend time everyone. Enjoy :-)
Sunset view. Summer of 2018. This picture was taken at the old part of Tel Aviv on the border with Jaffa
Merideth, Illinois @ Howard Street, looking west. I was waiting for a train to come along but then the sun rays came out and I thought, hmmm, that will do :-) I like all the lines from the rays and the tracks.
This scene could easily be situated in Valencia, at Café del Mar on Ibiza, Topshuis, Cádiz or Rabat. Fishermen hoping for a great last catch of the day. The sun turning the evening red and being as big as one would only see near the equator. The winds have died down, creating a sea so calm and gentle, that one would actually think it was a mirror or - since the Netherlands is currently frozen over – a giant ice floor. Although, the latter would do the earlier fisherman not much good. But that’s perhaps the romantic in me…
Technical stuff
A single shot photo. Take at F8.0, 30 seconds, +1 2/3 at 100 ISO. Although you know I’m a big fan of Aroura HDR 2018, I haven’t used this app this time. Its almost straight out of the camera. Post production was done with PS CC. It included colour toning (especially the saturation side of thinks. That was rather strong in the original), balancing the lighting of the fore- and background) and removing some chromatic aberration on the wind turbine. The latter I did by creating a composite or merged layer and blurring this layer with the Gaussian blur tool (set at 6.48). After that, I blended this layer with the original one using the colour option (it’s at the bottom of the pull down menu). To finish this procedure, I created an inverted mask in the blurred layer and used the brush tool to only remove the chromatic aberration. The latter is necessary due to the fact that this procedure influences the colour toning (it dulls it a little). Finally, I compensated this by ‘umph-ing’ the edges of the wind turbine a little for the masking step. (Any questions? Feel free to drop me a comment.)
Lastly, I added the copyright watermark. The latter is, alas, there to stay due to the frequent copying of my photos. So, don't bother commenting on that.

Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one early evening at Crescent Rock Overlook in Shenandoah National Park. The view is looking to the southwest at a colorful display of lights, not long after sunset. My thought on composing the image was to focus on the lights and colors and then figure out angles with the nearby ridges and hillsides to add to the setting. I knew most of the nearby landscape to my front was in early twilight shadows, but figured I could bring out some of the details and colors later in post-production. My main focus was to not blow any of the highlights and capture those rich colors for this image. I used a new SIRUI monopod that I had recently purchased that helped maintain a more stable position and platform for the longer exposure I had as I was working and learning my new Nikon Z8 Mirrorless camera.

After a fairly nice day free of rain we had storm clouds on the horizon coming in from the south west, thunderstorm's are expected tonight.
This is one of the very first photos I took with the Canon EOS 6D. The sky on Christmas Eve was great for photography.
The silhouetted man on the left was in the right spot for my compo. The photo I took afterwards I called "Silence is Golden".
It's already in my strream.
I probably bore you with these sunsets, but skies and sunsets never tire me ;-)

Sunset time, sunlight is touching the grass and there is a
layer of dust in the air caused by rally cars which have
just passed by and the layer is blocking the mountain view, which are also covered by sunset light.
The stage is located in the Morendat Farm vineyards, with its first 4.3km run mostly on narrow and technical trails passing next to short trees and bushes. This is followed by a high-speed section on a very narrow road with grass growing down the middle, before a rough and slower section begins at 5.9km. The end of the stage runs on more grass-lined roads which are quite rough in places and features a new finish
I imagine that this is probably one of the best spots to capture a sunset from. No sunset on this trip but hope to catch one later this month when I return to experience this gorgeous landscape again. I can hardly wait. You can see the Gunnison River toward the middle of this scene as it winds its way along the bottom of the canyon and the gorgeous Grand Mesa in the far distance on the right.
