As the Namibian sun dips below the horizon, a herd of graceful antelopes gathers beneath the golden sky. The warm hues of twilight cast a mesmerizing glow over the landscape, creating a serene and captivating wildlife moment in the heart of Africa.

Vernazza, one of Cinque Terre's jewels, glows in the mellow tones of twilight. The town's famous pastel houses look stunning against the deep blue of the sea and sky. As the sun sets, the horizon becomes blurry, and the ocean and sky appear to merge.

A couple Saturday's ago, I was out and about trying to find a spot to capture the sunset. I was runnning out of time to find the right place and I came across this location. The sun was getting quite low so before I even headed out to the end of this pier, I started snapping. I wanted to get a shot before the sun dipped all the way below the treeline.

Afterwards, I sat on that bench, put photography on hold for a moment, and remembered that sometimes I need to see the world through my eyes and not always through the lense. I thought about that for the longest time. I pondered over the realization that I spend so much time behind the camera that I forget that not all things in life need to be captured on a digital memory stick.

So I just sat there. Breathed in the fresh air. And as the night sky started to bring itself to center stage, I picked up my camera and headed back to the car. Half way back, I turned around and took one more look ~ a moment meant for just me, myself and I, all captured on my very own internal memory "stick" for personal viewing anytime I close my eyes.

This is a trig station which is used to reference land survey points. In the age of gps don't know if surveyors use them much anymore. The post and rails are to stop cattle from destroying them when they get bored...

While at a roadside parking area and overlook at the Spitler Knoll Overlook in Shenandoah National Park. The setting is looking to the west at the sun was just setting. In composing this image, I wanted to align myself so that the sun and horizon was more or less in the image center. I liked that balance with the foreground and the grassy meadow leading off to more distant ridges and peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains. That in turn was contrasted with the blue skies and colors present from the setting sunlight.

I’ve been holding onto these photos for a while. Tonight felt like the right moment to let them see the light by showing the sunset’s own. City lights shimmer against the fading sky, their glow mirrored and refracted, while branches and wires etch a fragile lace across the horizon. It is twilight caught between reflection and silhouette, a quiet filigree of dusk. 🌆

After a day of thunderstorms, wind, and downpours yesterday, the sunset made up for it. I didnt think we would have such a nice one so I didnt bother to go somewhere special, like the lake, to capture it. But, it turned out to be too good not to catch so I snapped a few frames from my balcony.

While I do have a great view and can enjoy sunsets every night, in order to get a shot like this, I have to get rid of 2 cell towers, an emergency siren, and an electrical line that runs across the image well above the treeline. Its a lot of post processing work, but well worth it for an image like this. My mischievous side thinks about going out there in the middle of the night and getting rid of all those obstacles permantly. You think the city would miss any of that?? LOL!! Afterall, from a photographic perspective, they ruin every single sunset! Usually, if I am not out shooting the sunset somewhere, I pretty much just watch and then forget about them. But this time, it was worth the effort to clean up the view.

The water tower in the lower left corner is right at the county fair grounds where they shoot the fireworks in July. Unlike my sunset views, the distractions from the cell towers, siren, and electrical line dont affect my view of the fireworks at all.

Today, similar as yesterday I'm showcasing Salzburg's cityscape from the Müllnersteg, the same location as yesterday's post. Hence, allow me to refer to yesterday’s post for more information about the various building on display. The only difference from yesterday’s post is the time of day. Yesterday's photo was taken shortly after 6:00 pm, while this one was captured just before 7:00 am, right before the city lights were turned off.
