I’ve been holding onto these photos for a while. Tonight felt like the right moment to let them see the light by showing the sunset’s own. City lights shimmer against the fading sky, their glow mirrored and refracted, while branches and wires etch a fragile lace across the horizon. It is twilight caught between reflection and silhouette, a quiet filigree of dusk. 🌆
Finally we've got a nice and blue sky yesterday afternoon, so I went out and enjoyed the sunshine. Just when I thought we might have a beautiful sunset, it began to overcast around one hour before sunset! An easy amble, however, in Stanley Park can still be so enjoyable in spring! :-)

This was my second favorite stop along the South Rim Drive at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Sunset View is stop number 11 of 12. No sunset for me this day, but when I return for another visit this is one of the reasons I want to do the South Rim Drive in the early evening so I can hopefully catch a sunset from this vantage point. Visiting the Black Canyon of the Gunnison was so much more than I had anticipated. This is truly a gem of the National Park System.
A devastating earthquake in the year 1964 shaped this hilly area, which offers trails, an interpretive display, and amazing sunsets.

As I sit here relaxing and looking out my window on this Halloween night, one train after another is going by and I just got in the mood to post a train shot. So it was off to my archives for this one. This eastbound train was stopped in Maple Park, Illinois. The front door on the engine left open while the conductor ran over to the local hamburger joint for carry out. The sunset was the icing on the cake for this beautiful late August day.

Stena Ro Ro's "Stena Carrier " berthed in Dun Laoghaire while the crew are on shore leave, in between charter duties before heading off on long term charter to P & O on their Teesport/ Rotterdam service ( previously operated by WILHELMINE ).
In 2018, the Stena Carrier was sold to Baja Ferries and renamed M / F Mexico Star.
Its sister ship, the Stena Foreteller is about to take up a short term charter for Irish Ferries while their own fleet is on overhaul, Foreteller expected to operate the mainly freight Dublin-Cherbourg route in January 2020.

Sun peering through the clouds above the ridges of Smoky Mountains. This view is from the Clingman's dome.
As mentioned by Tom Till in his book "Landscape photography", you can see the effect of the telephoto layers as the mountain ridges appear to be stacked...compressing the miles & miles of distance between each of them.

"Oh Play Me That Mountain Music" is reminiscent of growing up in the Appalachian Mountains of Northeast Tennessee and Western North Carolina. The days are long, and the sunsets are beyond stunning. The beautiful glow of the sunset above the haze of the blue ridges is often breathtaking.
