I love doing all types of photography but every now and again I am drawn back to doing a seascape, sadly not so much in the summer months but in the winter when the sun rises and sets in the sea here. I have always had a love of the sea it was my playground when I surfed a lot, sadly my knees won`t take that any more but i`m more than happy doing seascape photography such as this.If I cannot be on the sea then i`m beside it doing photography and I love it ,,,,,,,,,Bri
It was a perfect evening for photography, calm water, beautiful light and beautiful cloud formation.
Another shot from last Monday evening, this is from the old Toll bridge looking over some cowparsley .River Adur at Shoreham By Sea.
Long exposure waterfront sunset with sun and sky reflection in the Ottawa river at Petrie Island, Ottawa (Orleans), Ontario, Canada
Just about caught the last of sunset colour at Brantwood on shores of Coniston in the lakes. The lake was quite calm anyway but the long exposure exaggerates that effect.
High-resolution image of the tourist jetty at Lake Starnberg, photographed at sunset. The wooden pier with flagpoles produces clear linear reflections on the water surface. Sky shows scattered evening clouds with low ambient light. The calm water carries minor ripples. Due to the high resolution, certain details — such as a rowing boat partly hidden behind the second flag — are only visible when viewed at 1:1 scale.

The brilliance of sunset, casting light on Virga clouds -- lights up the sky in a beautiful array of pastel colours.
The atmospheric conditions of low cloud, mist and fog add to the composition created by Mother Nature herself.

In meteorology, a virga, also called a dry storm, is an observable streak or shaft of precipitation falling from a cloud that evaporates or sublimates before reaching the ground. A shaft of precipitation that does not evaporate before reaching the ground is a precipitation shaft. At high altitudes the precipitation falls mainly as ice crystals before melting and finally evaporating; this is often due to compressional heating, because the air pressure increases closer to the ground. It is very common in deserts and temperate climates. In North America, it is commonly seen in the Western United States and the Canadian Prairies. It is also very common in the Middle East, Australia, and North Africa.

An ore-bulk-oil carrier, also known as combination carrier or OBO, is a shipdesigned to be capable of carrying wet or dry cargoes. The idea is to reduce the number of empty (ballast) voyages, in which large ships only carry a cargo one way and return empty for another. These are a feature of the larger bulk trades (e.g. crude oil from the Middle East, iron ore and coal from Australia, South Africa and Brazil).
The Russian word for 'ore-bulk-oil carrier', nefterudovoz (нефтерудовоз, literally 'oil/ore carrier'), in combination with a number, is often used as a proper name for a ship, e.g. Nefterudovoz-51M.

Last light over the river Mersey down Wigg Island in Runcorn Cheshire. The low tide reveals the old ruins of old boats left to rot in the 1900's.
A re visit to an old composition that has done ok for me in a a couple of camera club competitions and print sales. Nice still conditions for the highish tide
One of those stupidly coloured skys that you just could have any composition and they would look good. I was surprised I managed to get anything as it was literally only about 5 mins.
A serene view of Little Venice in Mykonos during golden hour. The photo showcases the iconic white buildings with colorful balconies directly at the water's edge, reflecting the soft light.

I took this stunning photograph of Lake Erie during a tranquil evening. The sky was painted with hues of blue and gold, with streaks of clouds creating a dramatic contrast against the calm waters below. The gentle reflections on the lake's surface enhanced the peaceful ambiance, making it a perfect moment of nature's quiet splendor.

Same view as this morning, now with more snow and a sunset reflection.
I went for a walk while it was snowing today and took a lot of photos, and then some snowflakes as well, but haven't sorted them out yet. Stay tuned...

I like the layers in this photo (water, road levels, forest and sky) and the zig-zag pattern of the road paths.

i guess it's time to go back to our regular programming of Chicagoscapes and Landscapes...this was the first sunset i shot after coming back from a 2 week vacation...this was taken at the Burnham Marina in the South Loop of the city...one way of capturing a more dramatic sunset is by doing a longer exposure and using an ND filter to be able to set the exposure to at least 10 seconds or longer...in this frame, by using the ND 10 stop filter, i was able to expose this for a good 30 seconds, thus eliminating the wavy, choppy waters, smoothing it out like a mirror and also at the same time gather more light in creating a more dramatic sunset tone...no processing was done except for straightening the frame a little bit...hope you guys like this one...pls.
