Heres another take of South Garbage at Sunset Cliffs on the Red Skies day. There are so many cool rock formations to choose from!
Panning the surf at Sunset Cliffs tonight. Storms in the Pacific Northwest (thank you very much!) will be providing some great surf by Friday. Today was in the mid 80's, in case you were wondering.

I've been quite intrigued by this spot, having seen so many versions of this place online. I decided to find out where this tide pool was. For the most part of the shoot, it looked like we'd have a bland sky with no clouds, but right before the sun went down, these dragon clouds, for lack of a better name appeared out of nowhere. Their reflections were crisp on the tide pool water and bam, I got the shot I wanted! :)
Here's the shot on 500px : 500px.com/photo/13575435

Sunset Cliffs in Point Loma in San Diego, California is one of the best spots to take sunset photos..it offers a vast unobstructed, pristine view of the Pacific Ocean and the beautiful sandstone cliffs with wild flowers also offer some great photo ops when they catch some awesome sunset light esp. the face of the cliffs....some very cool rock formations are also just at the bottom of the cliffs which is very readily accessible by navigating down the steep paths leading to the rocky shores....easy to find parking too and the place fills up fast with photographers and sunset seekers like me.....pls.View On Black
Thinking of your mother, and our sister. Pam.
My apologies to all my flickr friends. I haven't visited you in quite a while and may not for what I hope won't be an extended period. Sad times right now but we are working through it. We will all heal, in time.
I wasn't going to post anything for a while, but couldn't help it. I was down along the cliffs the other evening, thinking. I took some photos, and when I saw this later I just had to share it. Isn't this just gorgeous? Yes, it is. And for me a truly powerful scene and quite moving for personal reasons. I just had to share it in the hopes it might move you in some special way.
Thanks for your patience. I will see you all, hopefully soon.
Sky (me)
The sky makes me high
When I'm feeling low
The blue that seeps through
Soothes my sorrow
And absorbs the painful memories
At least until tomorrow
And that's why today
I stand and stare at the sky
Perhaps tomorrow won't come
If i can figure out how to fly
The sky makes me cry
And I'm feeling low
The blue that seeps through
Is the color of my sorrow
And adds to the painful memories
Which I know will be there tomorrow
And that's why today
I stand and stare at the sky
Perhaps tomorrow won't come
If I can figure out how to fly
But I can't
Fly
Keep tomorrow away
So I will just stand here alone and stare
Unmoving
Feeling
Until the sky disappears
Forever
International crane truck used for hoisting people and objects off the cliffs and beach. Seen at a rescue at Sunset Cliffs.
Took the kids to Point Loma to see the caves and coast. The caves were closed, and the whole area closed at 5. Bleh. Went up the coast to "Sunset Cliffs". Set up my camera with my wonderpana set-up, only to have a random huge wave splash me before I could get off my first shot. Ugh.
was really getting pumped up with the sun setting quite fast and the colors in the skies were getting more intense....as if that were not enough, here comes the Farmer's Market Insurance Blimp floating by our scene right on cue just like in the movies....that really put a big smile on my face.....have a great week my friends!!!!
Will try to catch up with your streams as much as i can....BTW, sorry 'bout some noise on this frame, will try to clean it up later..that ISO 400 almost ruined this shot.........pls.View On Black
A late afternoon shot of a small part of San Diego's Sunset Cliffs. This feels like home for most anyone who visits it.
So I discovered some benefits of taking sunrise shots over sunset shots. 1. No one else around to get in the shots. 2. First one to paddle out! 3. No need to find the way back in darkness. 4. Breakfast at the local cafe!
Although I forgot to check the tide and it was high. Not good for this spot.
Ocean Beach (OB to the locals), San Diego, California, USA. This location is a 25-mile (40.2 km) round-trip drive from my home.
Taken about a thousand feet (304.8m) northwest of where I took this picture. Sadly, the day after I took that picture, a tourist fell to his death from not paying attention while adjusting his smartphone to take a selfie during a visit. This unfortunate incident gave me added respect for the dangers of this popular scenic overlook.
A gorgeous sunset at Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach, CA. Shortly before capturing this image, my camera and I got sprayed with salt water. See the image below.

The short vacation on Crete offered everything. Beautiful landscapes, dreamlike blue sea, friendly people, good food and refreshing ouzo.
In addition to relaxation, I was also able to take a few photos.
My starting point was Agia Pelagia.
Agia Pelagia is a popular seaside resort in the municipality of Malevizi, 23 km northwest of Crete's capital city of Heraklion. In former times, Agia Pelagia was a tiny fishing village and a place for the residents of nearby Achlada village to grow their crops. Today, the village built at the center of a picturesque amphitheatric bay has been transformed into a bustling tourist resort featuring five-star hotels, traditional seaside tavernas, cafes, bars, internet cafés, ATMs, and souvenir shops.
