One of a few shots I took of the Palace of Westminster on New Year's Day. This shot is an experimental 314 sec exposure using a B + W ND110X filter and wireless cable release.

Conclusion - I'll only use this filter for 'daylight' hours but maybe use ND2, ND4 or ND8 filters for sunset captures in future although the choppy water has been flattened quite successfully.

A fantastic sunset captured as I was on the way back from a cloudy day at the beach. All of a sudden the clouds cleared and the show began. Applied curves to silhouette the forground and a added a little exposure to brighten up the firey tones.

Some interesting colours and clouds at sunset, captured over Sutton Harbour in Plymouth. Thanks for viewing.

Winter sunset captured from above by the Phantom 4 drone. Golden hour sunset and you see the last rays of sun setting on the horizon. Those clouds helped create an awesome glow and colors.

Sunset captured thru a full-spectrum converted camera with an infrared filter

It has been awhile since the last upload. I will try to upload as regularly as possible. I am planning for couple trips to Alberta and Vancouver Island as I am off for two weeks of vacation.

Since I can't travel internationally this year, I decide to spend some time exploring Canada instead. Hopefully, these upcoming two weeks will be great. The past week of so, the sunset in Vancouver was nothing but amazing. The sky was constantly burning in orange, purple, and red that I tried to go out and shoot whenever I can.

This evenings sunset captured on the fairway at Glen Abbey golf course.

The image was taken on the beautiful south pacific island Fakarava, part of french polynesia. The island atoll is famous for the large population of sharks in the reefs and so, here is one of them hunting in the shalow waters during sunset.

The evening sky glowed like fire over the waterway in the mouth of river Ems.

Due to the photorefractive effect of the deep sun level in the atmosphere the disk of the sun looks like an oval.

It was forecast to be a rainy evening but as I was walking home the clouds started to clear as the sun was setting and produced this really strong sunset. Captured in Greenwich, London

Most of you know that I am a sucker for a sunrise/sunset capture and my field of dreams is not too far from the house. I begin to watch the skies a couple of hours before the sun sets and if the cloud patterns look favorable, a trip to El Franco Lee Park is always a necessity. The sky lit up quite nicely on this particular evening. I might add that this shot was take long after the sun had slipped below the horizon. Hope you enjoy. Wishing everyone a wonderful Sunday. Peace.

My final attempt to chase the cold away and warm things up a bit here on Flickr. This is another sunset capture from El. Franco Lee Park and is actually a view to the south as the sun settled in for the evening over the wetlands at the park. I though this looked a bit like a fire but you can be the judge of that. Sending nice warm thoughts to everyone for the next couple of days as I will be missing tomorrow. Have a wonderful weekend and stay safe and warm.

Taken on the 18th July 2022 after a very hot day in the UK due to the recent heatwave we are having. Was treated to this wonderful sunset.

The colors were quite impressive in the sky but is also enjoyed the different patterns and the movement in the clouds. Sunset captured at El. Franco Lee Park.

A simple sunset capture with vibrant light an colour in the stunning evening Springtime skies. The sun just about to disappear behind the forest tree lines. That central tree was my hero and the sky with the aircraft flight paths and glowing colour was very surprising once I processed this.

Sunset in Caños de Meca

Captured in: Gloucester, MA.

Just returned home from a week-long trip to Massachusetts & Maine, where I had an amazing opportunity to work with Long Island landscape and wildlife master photographer Bill Rudock. It was an incredible opportunity to visit and capture some gorgeous New England lights, and learn from one of the best photographers around.

I can’t thank Bill enough for sharing his vast knowledge and experience with me. He’s incredibly talented, a consummate professional, and such a genuine person. This was a challenging photographic adventure, and an experience that I’ll never forget.

I also wanted to take a moment to thank Bill's First Light Photography partner Gen Benjamin for helping to organize such a fantastic trip, and making this such a memorable week!

Seen here is one of my sunset captures of the Annisquam Harbor Light Station in Gloucester, MA -- one of the stops along the way. This light was established in 1801, and formerly known as Wigwam Point. Annisquam is one of the oldest lighthouses found in Massachusetts.

I was disappointed to see the thick cloud cover but just before the sunset an opening over the horizon gave this view. This is better spot during the summer when sun sets right in the middle of the view but one thing I learned over the years that you don't always need the actual sun in a sunset capture :)

I appreciate the feedback

Tonight's sunset captured from Karoro beach looking towards Mount Cook & the Southern Alps.

When I look back at those evenings where I was scrambling back and forth the lengths of Glacier National park, I only have fond memories of this beautiful heaven on earth wonder! If at all...any of you ever think of going there...please do not think again...just pack your bags and leave...take it from me..you wont regret it even for a second...

This is the magnificent St.Mary Lake with its glacial waters...The sun was just setting to the right of my frame...Instead of going for a direct sunset capture, I thought of using the sunlight to add another perspective..so left Him out of the frame..

Glacier National park is truly a wonderful place to spend your time...and I shudder to think what humans are going to do in the coming years to make the few of the remaining glaciers melt away...One such days where I really want this human race to be done with this world...just like dinosaurs which were really taking a toll on the ecosystem, human beings will soon be selected by nature for extinction and rightly so...I would not mind even if that happens during my time..Only when you venture into such places and hear the things we are doing...knowingly or otherwise do I feel disgusted by my very existence..

Thanks for viewing and I will surely catch up with all your work this weekend! Happy friday :)

Looking back at one of the more beautiful sunsets that we’ve had at El. Franco Lee Park. I live in the flight path of a local airport, so it’s not unusual to capture a plane in my photos from time to time. Sunset capture taken at El. Franco Lee Park.

A fall evening just before sunset capture through the trees.

Newport Beach, California

Visitors can't help but enjoy a summer southern California sunset.

Captured from the area of Lookout Point overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Corona Del Mar State Beach. The inlet jetty forms what is known as "The Wedge" on the far side of it. That unseen beach area is accessed from the Balboa Peninsula and the jetty often caused a wave intensification enjoyed by surfers.

A scenic and warm sunset captured in the night of 30 June at 1 a.m.

Stunning sunset captured over my back fence

... amazing how fast the light can explode in just seconds there at sunset.

Captured with the new Sigma 14mm lens and the ICE 150mm 6 Stop ND Filter to smooth out the water ... there were small waves from boat traffic on the river. The extended shutter work helps bring out some of the reflections.
