Venus passed in front of the sun tonight. Something we won't see for another 105 years. Took the solar glasses we used to view the annular eclipse last month and taped them onto the lens hood of my kit telephoto. Got a bit of the neighbours fir tree during the sunset. Captured from the Ottawa suburb of Barrhaven.

I have so captures in backlog at the moment thought I'd do a mixed upload today.
As many of you know wildlife is a real passion for me...... but I also enjoy a good sunrise and sunset. So today you have a couple of wildlife shots.......a beautiful hovering male kestrel and a lovely Red Admiral that came and sat on the window sill just as I stepped out the door on Sat. Sometimes the wildlife finds me....lol
And the other couple of shots are a lovely Sunrise and Sunset captures taken from this weekend.

Clouds on the River Arun. I created this wonderful HDR by combining 3 long exposures, to capture the smoothness on the water and the reflection of the clouds. The sunset captures the clouds in the centre and adds a bit of colour.
This photo was entered for Round 2 of the POTY 2012 - Landscapes. I received 3/5 for creativity and 3/5 for technical. As a beginner, I am happy with this. thank you.
