When the spaceship landed in the neighbor's yard I had no idea what to do, but I thought it would be a good idea to put on some sunblock before I went out to see what they wanted.
Hey everyone!! I just wanted to apologize in advance for not being on for up to a week... at least consistently. I have a lot going on with school and home life for at least a week, so I won't be on as often for a bit.
As for now, take care everyone! I'll be busy most of tomorrow. I have class then I'm running back home to decorate and cook what my son has requested for his birthday dinner... Chicken Parmesan and fresh garlic bread. After dinner the family is coming over for cake and presents.... Ahhh, to be young again!! ^_^

Hiya friends, reporting back from a 10 day-holiday in Corsica, France. Had a blast, not only on the beach. What a lovely, mountainous and green island it was! We stayed in a "Gîte" in a village in the middle of the island, Muracciole to be exact. From there we made daytrips all over the island, by car, but by train too. Came home yesterday with over 2,000 raw files waiting to be processed, so it's a busy weekend ahead of me ;-)

Wear your sunblock!!!!
Maybe they were googling skin cancer or sun damage or texting each other....either way, just too engrossed in technology to see the beauty around them.

This woman and her son, sometimes her husband, came by the hotel almost everyday selling their crayfish. I think they usually ended up selling them for a good price. Whatever she has smeared on her face is some kind of a homemade sunblock.
The runes? It's just a little something to keep my skin fair! I can't help it if those strapping young men keep looking at them . . .

Weird weather today. Hail, snow, and rain. Followed by 90 minutes with a blue sky. I had my Winter outfit while out on the bike. A few hours later I was sipping coffee in the sunshine at home wondering if I needed some sunblock.
I FINALLY have pictures of all 4 of my dogs....I take a ton of Junior as he is the best model out of all of them. Guess I will introduce all of you to my dogs.
Spanky is a goofball, he has the face of someone who is stoned 24/7. He has a very loving, warm, and friendly personality. He loves balls, and kids, he loves to just sit and sleep as much as he can. He will be turning 4 in April and loves anything that remotely even smells edible.
Junior is my best friend hands down! He just turned 5 years old in January, he is a great dog. He is an American Pit Bull Terrier, he is also a Certified Therapy Dog and loves to work with kids. He loves ice cream, and is a pretty picky eater when it comes to food. He does tend to get sunburn out in the sun so we need to put sunblock on him always. He is also a part-time model.
Jazz is a Chihuahua/Poodle mix and the queen of the house. She is a feisty little dog. She loves people and has a fascination with licking EVERYTHING around her. She is a BIG dog in a small package, she has grown up with big dogs so she is not an annoying little dog. I am not fond of little dogs or worse little dog owners (for the most part). Jazz however thinks she is a pit bull and boxer and wants to protect the house from everything.
Mandy is my old girl, she is 9 I believe. I rescued her when i lived in The Bay Area and she is a spazz. She has so much freaking energy, that no matter how old she gets its like she is still a puppy. She definitely came with some issues, but we have worked hard at them and she is now a great dog. She loves kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is a great dog and very very loving.
That is my brood!
it didn't take long for them to make it out to the beach. in fact, they dumped their luggage in the foyer of their house and immediately started to change clothing. she struggled untangling bikini strings, while he slathered on sunblock.
then they were off, making sure to swing by the bar for those drinks she so loved. the resort was quiet and peaceful, with a cool breeze sifting over crests of sea foam. the music of children playing in the sand nearby along with the occasional call from a sea gull. the sound of wooshing waves that crackled against the sand as they receded.
she dug her toes into the sand, and flipped her pony tail over the back of the chair she lounged in.
"this is the life," she heard him say. it seemed more of a statement to himself than anything. but, she couldn't help but to respond.
"i agree."

[Thank you. Simply, thank you for reaching out and sending love. I'm always reminded that there is so much good here. <3]
I was lucky enough to have a cracking (good) sunset whilst on my way to Colac to conduct some work tomorrow, hard not to enjoy sunsets like this :).

A beautiful, remote and culturally rich country infamous for its military regime, Myanmar (Burma) has in recent years been making small steps towards democracy, with the first democratically elected government in 2015, after more than half a century.
Modern conveniences, such as mobile-phone coverage and internet access, are now common, however for all the recent changes, Myanmar remains at heart a rural nation of traditional values - though one may have hard time to find someone among the younger generation without a smartphone or Facebook profile.
One will still encounter men wearing the sarong-like longyi and chewing betel nut, spitting the blood-red juice onto the ground, women with faces smothered in thanakha (a natural sunblock), and cheroot-smoking grannies. Trishaws still ply city streets, while the horse or bullock and cart is common rural transport.

We carefully planned our 3-weeks long Burmese adventure around 6-days long hiking trip in the remote Chin state, where we commenced our journey in the hilltop settlement of Mindat, and subsequently hiked for four days across ethnic minority villages using old footpaths and mule trails.
Besides that, Bagan was the obvious spot to spend a few days exploring its temples, and we also spent a few days more in the south around Hpa-An. Then, finally, Ngapali was the ultimate destination for our beach leisure time.
