These lions resting in the early morning Sun with the acacia and the herbivores and the acacia in the background show what daily life in the Mara is like!

Four friends have made themselves comfortable on their bath towels to get a tan from the sun. Eveline is now talking to a passer-by about the weather, while a jogger runs across the hot sand with his Bernese hound.

The sunshine this afternoon brought out quite a few Dragonflies to sunbathe on my decking. They are such lovely, delicate creatures.
On this day, once again, the biggest concentration of wildlife (within photography distance), other than bison and elk was along the Old Yellowstone Trail at the northern border of Yellowstone National Park. Particularly bighorn sheep and pronghorns occupy this area in large numbers in winter because of the protection from cold wind and precipitation afforded by the Custer-Gallatin mountains to the west, and the Absarokas to the east.
Because of the shelter, the forage is consumed down to the ground, but it still provides better nutrition for these creatures than other areas do.
Photo of this ewe resting adjacent to the road was taken from inside my car; these wild sheep are accustomed to the presence of vehicles on the road running through their territory and are evidently not disturbed by the humans inside them.
A contiguous swift butterfly or scientifically known as Polytremis lubricans was found basking in the garden while perching on the tip of a wet leaf.
I'm outta here for two weeks - to a country with a great history, a zillion of beautiful islands, lovely people and yummee food. Hopefully with a little time to sunbathe as well... Hazard a guess ;-)?

All of our kitties looooovvve sunbathing! Miss Parsley is no exception. :) So when we finally (FINALLY!) had some sun, she and all the other cats were overjoyed. I walked past the front door and saw her posing like this. I ran for my camera and this is what I got. :) Love it when they pose themselves. Cats are the best for that reason.
