(so sorry, very closer shot!)
- Thank you <3
Male. Blackbird basking in the glow of the sun checking over the garden before coming to the feeders. Really liked how the light was lighting his face and feathers for this image.
Thanks for taking the time to view this and other images in my photo stream.
It was really windy at the shore and all the birds like this Purple Sandpiper were all huddled up on the leeward side staying out of the wind. Barnegat Lighthouse State Park NJ.
We love seeing all of the turtles sunbathing in the marsh at the local state park lately. There are a lot of them!
A little patch of Speedwell that hasn't yet seen the light of day - I hope. I'm busy as a bee again so I hope this isn't already on here. I will check in a bit.....have a wonderful day..
Sun radiation is "drained" into black skin, where it is absorbed and converted into heat.
Because the coat is excellently insulated, the heat can no longer be radiated. The insulating effect of the fur is based on the air cushions, which hold particularly well between the slightly curled hairs.
The red-eared slider belongs to the semi aquatic pond sliders. It lives in North America and is a popular pet there and across the hemisphere. It definitely does not belong in German nature reserves :-(
A waddle of African Penguins enjoying a day out sun bathing on a scenic sandy beach. These social birds have unique ways to stay warm.
Shot with a Canon EOS700D from Boulders Penguin Colony in Simons Town, a natural habitat home to a unique and endangered land-based colony of African Penguins, one of only a few in the world.
A grasshopper enjoying the warm sunshine, best viewed large. Thanks so much for your visits, faves and comments. Have a great day!
Gatekeeper (male) (Pyronia tithonus) sun basking in the sea of green. Primrose Hill Community Woodland. Bath, BANES, England, UK.
On cold, sunny mornings, the Eared Grebe, like some other grebe species, sunbathes by facing away from the sun and raising its rump, exposing dark underlying skin to light. This behavior may make the bird appear to have a distinctive "high-stern" profile. (CornellLab)
Photographed at Fruit Growers Reservoir, Western Slope, Colorado.
I was melting away when I saw this cute little squad :-)))

Have a wonderful and sunny sunday everyone!
