The robin seems to be sunbathing ... possibily to help the preen oils to spread through the feathers and to help drive out parasites - according to online sources.
If this is wrong, please correct me!! But why tweeting at the same time I don't know.
Any wisdom on this is appreciated
Captured in a managed wetland meadow (hence the chicken wire covering the boardwalk) in Chichester Harbour UK.
But there is something anthropomorphically poignant about the facial expression.
They are certainly in great numbers this Year, I read several articles about the large skipper
and one in Lulworth cove Dorset how elusive they are, perhaps they all crossed the Atlantic:-)
Heading home after a longish eBike ride to Stockholm, and a ride around Södermalm I stopped at Eriksdalsbadet for a look at the sunbathers.
