NW winds have blown in smoke from many Canadian wildfires.
The red, orange and yellow hues of the sun are common with the sun low on the horizon. With more atmosphere to travel through, the shorter wave length, higher energy blue and green waves of visible light are scattered by air molecules, leaving the familiar red, orange and yellow sunrises and sunsets.

Sun was shining through an orange, smokey sky in the morning as I left campground at Mammoth Lake, Calif.
The sun will not smite you by day nor the moon by night. The Lord will preserve you from all evil.
What a beautiful promise.
