The undulating track profile around the Te Awamutu-Ohaupo section of the NIMT is shown to good effect in this capture of a northbound freight train taken from the Ngaroto Rd over bridge.

Busts of Ashmolean worthies stare distantly out of the window on the back stair. I quite enjoyed the opportunity to take some subtle portraiture with such compliant sitters.

The Almond blossoms appear in Jerusalem and the hilly regions at the end of February. They last 3-4 weeks, and then they are gone. Their actual size is about an inch across.

When these delicate flowers appear and brighten the landscape, Spring is not far behind.

Post-Hike Sunset over the ocean in Sai Kung with the soft gentle colours in the sky.

Taken during the Easter long weekend, on the first day after weeks of rainy weather. Although it was cloudy the entire day, one has to appreciate the subtle and gentle colours of the sunset that spills across the sky.

There was a temporary palace of Toshogu, is the cedar of large tree

But it is solemn and subtle and profound feeling?

This vernal pool and one next to it will be my primary subjects for a project I've been thinking about for years - to photograph, study and appreciate the role of the vernal pool in forests. I hope this one is deep and large enough to last through the season, but with Wisconsin's rains I think it will be safe.

This is a small painting I have on the wall above the master bedroom door. It reminds me of Spring and how much I miss it!

Imagine all the senses

That your body holds inside

So gracefully perfected

In another space and time

Singular sensations

Are magnificent and bold…!

Yet the subtleness of feeling

Wraps around your soul

Focused on soft tones and the colour red with accessories for this one. Again, I want to venture outside but the weather is never on my side! I miss sunshine!

"Stop," said the old man gently. "Relax. Don't push. This is a subtle knife, not a heavy sword. You're gripping it too tight. Loosen your fingers. Let your mind wander down your arm to your wrist and then into the handle, and out along the blade, no hurry, go gently, don't force it. Just wander. Then along to the very tip, where the edge is sharpest of all. You become the tip of the knife. Just do that now. Go there and feel that, and then come back."
