A common loon does a little stretch as a prelude to takeoff. Each leg was given a little air time, then the loon hit the runway, literally. Due to their weight, they run on the water, while energetically flapping their wings, for quite a distance to become airborne. Up to 400m, depending on the headwind. They cannot take off from land or small bodies of water.

quell'emozione così intensa, quella sensazione così tangibile, quel sentimento così semplice e vero cambiano improvvisamente di stato e sublimano nell'aria
ma l'aria intorno a noi rimane ancora tiepida e densa
e la pelle sotto i vestiti conserva ancora quel lieve calore
ma poi quel cerchio sublime si solleva nell'aria e vola via
e diventa il ricordo di un desiderio d'amore
