A Fitter with a long anti-radar (?) missile. Neuruppin, 17 September 1990.
The photo was taken with high-ISO slide film (hence the grain) because all other film had been spent already. Bad old times. :)
A Fitter landing at Gross-Dölln (Templin). Note the emblem and the text 'Sukhoi Su-22M-4' on the tail. Actually this is a Su-17M-4! The Su-22 is the export version of the same aircraft. 22 March 1994.
This is from Eulalie Osgood Grover’s Book “The Sunbonnet Sue Primer” so beautifully illustrated by the „mother of the Sunbonnet Babies” Bertha Corbett Melcher. I took the liberty to trace the pattern from the book pages as her art work - like many of the gorgeous pattern used in vintage Redwork - is in the public domain.
You mustn’t confuse this book with the pattern book “The Sunbonnet Sue Primer” from Leisure Arts which actually features Bertha Corbett Melcher’s illustrations for “The Sunbonnet Babies A-B-C Book” also from Eulalie Osgood Grover. The pattern book itself is copyright protected however, as you can not claim copyright for anything that is in the public domain those wounderful illustrations by Bertha Corbett Melcher’s illustration remain in the public domain, too

On 10 July 1992 the 159th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment left Stargard, Poland. 39 Su-27 Flankers went to Petrozavodsk which is to the north east of St Petersburg.
63 red was the first on the flightline and the first to go.

Egyptair Boeing 777-36N(ER) SU-GDL operating MS995 from Cairo to Toronto diverted into EIDW with a sick passenger, 7 August 2018. The aircraft landed at approximately 0811 hrs and departed again for YYZ just after 1300 hrs, almost 5 hours on the ground. A long day for the crew and pax!

È così che l’ultima domenica e il martedì di Carnevale, ogni anno, Oristano diventa capitale della Sardegna. C’è la Sartiglia. Festa dai mille simboli, festa della magia, della prosperità e della miseria, del dolore e della speranza.
Da Via Sant’Antonio, passando per il Duomo, sino a Via Vittorio Emanuele e Piazza Mannu, un fiume di persone, provenienti dalle città e dai paesi di tutta l’isola, si accalca ai bordi di un tracciato di terra e paglia. Ad ogni edizione, su quel percorso pestato dagli zoccoli dei cavalli si riversano secoli di storia. E un fragore di urla e applausi guida le gesta del cavaliere, quando la spada trafigge la stella.
Prima delle acrobatiche e spericolate Pariglie, che regaleranno emozioni e paure sino al tramonto, Su Cumponidori dovrà tenere fede ad un ultimo rito, Sa Remada, con il Cavaliere costretto a percorrere di corsa la pista disteso di schiena sul dorso del cavallo. Solo allora la Sartiglia potrà essere dichiarata conclusa e il rito definitivamente consumato. Ma sarà una semplice pausa. In attesa dell’edizione successiva, quando ancora una volta la folla si identificherà in quell’eroe, uomo e donna insieme, protagonista di una cerimonia pagano - cristiana che continua a ripetersi inalterata da secoli, forse da millenni.
