The puff of smoke is from a drip that my camera caught just as it hit the valley in an explosion of smoke and juice.
Before heading off to the airport, we spent some time in the tiny Fræðasetur Nature Center. It was a neat way to end the trip, since we didn't encounter any wildlife (besides a few birds) during our time in Iceland. I knew we were way past the puffin season, but I had hoped to see seals. We saw our share of farmed sheep and horses, but no real wildlife. At least we got to see the stuffed versions ;)
This stuffed black bear was part of the decor in a hotel in Great Falls, Montana. It was poised on some rocks near an interior waterfall and plastic greenery.

Hi, my name is Berkley. I am a little owl made from blue fabric with red spots. I have been stuffed with love (and some polyfill to make me extra soft!). I am 9 inches from head to toe and I have blue felt feet and a white felt face. My eyes and beak are hand embroidered. I come with a card to say thank you for adopting me and if you ask nicely it can be personalised with your name and message.
I was made from a pattern drawn by my maker Katy

Children entrust their precious stuffed animals with the Smithfield Branch Library and let them attend a sleepover. None of the stuffed animals got homesick during the night and called their kids to come get them...they were having too much fun!
This was an impromptu dinner, inspired by the bountiful array of things that came today from our produce co-op. I made a marinade for the kale with a soaked pumpkin seed base (pumpkin seeds, garlic, pepper, tomato, onion, spices) and then stuck it in the dehydrator for a few hours. The mushroom stuffing was leftover almond milk pulp, processed with various chopped veggies, spices, olive oil and sea salt. I stuffed the mushrooms, topped them with a slice of tomato, and dehydrated them for a few hours, too.
