Today we walked around the yard and the little white catalpa flowers were all over the lawn, some even with a cluster of 15-20 blossoms which became the toy of the afternoon for Kiki. She pored over them, swinging them, watching them fly through space by her motion.

If you want to be more efficient with your time when you study, then following a few simple steps will help you learn and remember a lot more. "Study Techniques" focuses on how to make the whole learning experience a lot more powerful, so that you remember more of what you are learning.

Well, i have not uploaded anything for about 3-4 weeks now and i thought i should just signal that I'm still alive here. School and other things are taking a bit to much time right now so photopgraphy is ranked quite low right now. Hopefully this will change in a couple of weeks when things settle down a bit.

Ian Levack first started using his father’s Pentax ME-F 35mm camera with a 50mm lens at a young age. In 2004 he received his first digital camera which was a Canon Power-shot Elph S-410 4.0 megapixel camera, and was used up until December 2008.

Macro photography is something Ian really enjoys, to capture the hidden world of shapes and textures in everyday objects. His satisfactory knowledge of Adobe Photoshop allows him to enhance his photography, quickly gaining much more experience altering the photos taken with his digital single lens reflex.

Post secondary education was not for Ian. He felt the quality of education lacked for the $24,000 dollars he was paying into it. Ian wanted to be known as an individual, not as another lifeless, soulless producer in the industry machine.

Hate us on Facebook: Studies In Comfort

WiP (Work in Progress) of a painting called Ellen the Rogue. The first time I hired a Model to play a persona. Her name was Ellen, she dressed up like a Rogue warrior, wondered the Brandywine Park and shoot photos for references. These are life drawing sketches done in my studio on 6/22/2004. Art process heavily influenced by Howard Pyle.

Private Education

Over the past three years I have been exploring educational institutions that act as pilot to class mobility. It is the American ideal that one can rise above their class if they work hard enough in school. Anyone can be president, or anything they wish to be. These structures, meant to be the building blocks of one's future, are the supposedly egalitarian basis for opportunity.

By photographing without human presence I hope to create a stage-like setting, so that it is up to the viewer to project their own ideas of how they might experience each area. Through these portfolios I hope to touch upon both the advantages and limitations of each education.

Another study of the same nice backlit trees in the jungle.

What is it about close up photos that compel me to want to see them large?

The closer i get to something small with a camera the more i want to step back to view it.

Perhaps its because those little details which are not obvious or visible to the naked eye start to demand more attention once they are revealed with the macro lens.

Yet again „the walk“, I guess you know every single tree as well as I do right now ... BUT: I tried few things with the rendering, both while taking the shots and when processing them. When shooting I used a Kenko Nostaltone Orange, which is basically a diffusor and warming filter combined. That's where the color and softness comes from. I used a zoom lens all the way open, which gives vignette and fall off and a bit of additional softness. when proscessing them in LR and PS I payed attention to „fill the highlights with color“ and control the highlights in general. There was a beautiful „soft sunshine“ today (partially cloudy), and the light was so nice I hope I could capture that a little bit at least.

Reston Study Center and its programs are inspired by the spirit of seeking God and serving Him through one's work. This is the core message of Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church. The spiritual activities of the center are entrusted to Opus Dei, and the resident chaplain is an Opus Dei priest.

It was so wonderfully 'alien' feeling up around the mountains, with some really surreal formations.
